GRADUATE SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY
The growth and development of the society largely depends on the knowledge, relevant skills, and commitment of its vast manpower resources who are able to respond to real-world challenges in various disciplines.
GRADUATE SCHOOL VISION
The Cagayan State University Graduate School is a distinguished globally-competitive center of excellence in advanced learning in transforming lives and bolstering national and international development.
GRADUATE SCHOOL MISSION
The Cagayan State University Graduate School vigorously pursues, through multidisciplinary teaching, creative research, relevant outreach programs and innovation in production, and the development of a competent individual fully able to understand, create, integrate, and apply advanced knowledge to address local and global realities.
GRADUATE SCHOOL GOALS
Towards the above ends, the Graduate School is boldly committed to produce graduates who can:
1. demonstrate breadth and depth of knowledge in their chosen field of expertise;
2. demonstrate critical thinking and effectively communicate knowledge in their respective discipline;
3. apply their expertise to generate new knowledge or to enhance the discipline through creative research; and
4. exhibit the best practices, values and ethics of the profession.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
To accomplish the above goals, the Graduate School shall:
A. provide a continuing empowerment program for all professors in the different disciplines on the Master's and the Doctoral levels which makes them sensitive to the local, national and international issues and enable them to provide professional assistance to their students in terms of critical thinking and research skill so that through their interdisciplinary involvements, interagency linkage, together with their students, they may address with a deep sense of commitment and responsibility to the needs, the concerns and the problems of the different communities they serve for the improvement of the quality of life of people.
B. provide a continuing information program on all the research outputs of Graduate Professors and students in Master's and Doctoral level in all disciplines in the local, national and international levels, which address multi-cultural issues, needs and concerns, with a much – needed highly effective developed curriculum, international strategies and modules to equip and train them with the personal, social, intellectual skills and knowledge they need, to conduct equally productive, proactive researches which address the needs, concerns and problems of the different communities they serve for the improvement of the quality of life of people.
C. provide models of continuing community development/ extension programs organized by graduate professors and students, which have been designed to address local, national and international issues on development to provide skills, sources of supply and opportunities for the survival of those who belong to the marginal sectors of human society; the underprivileged, the uneducated, the unemployed, the less blessed, the unfortunate, the sick and those suffering form dire need or poverty, so that with these models, the professors and graduate students may also design and organize continuing community development programs so that life may become lighter, better, more beautiful and more livable with these community development programs/ the other professors and graduate students may conduct.
