𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐔 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚
In line with NISU's commitment to academic excellence, the Northern Iloilo State University–Victorino Salcedo Sara Campus and Prevent Crime Now Malaysia formalized their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on August 11, 2026, at the NISU-VSC Hostel.
The ceremony was attended by the University President and faculty members of the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), marking a significant step toward strengthening international collaboration in the field of criminal justice and security education.
University President Dr. Raffy B. Chavez highlighted the importance of the partnership in advancing the university’s internationalization efforts. “This partnership reflects our university’s dedication to internationalization and an inclusive community,” Dr. Chavez said.
Moreover, Dr. Rosario Noderama, Campus Director for Curriculum and Instruction emphasized the shared connection between the Philippines and Malaysia despite their geographical separation.
“The Philippines and Malaysia may be separated by geography, but we are connected by our shared values, our Southeast Asian identity, and our desire to build a better future for our people."
During the Program, Dr. Ronie A. Ausa, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education, presented an overview of the partnership. Meanwhile, Prof. Chrismel Joy Agolito, Chairperson of the Bachelor of Science in Criminology, formally presented the Memorandum of Understanding.
Dr. Shamir Rajadurai, Chief Executive Officer of Prevent Crime Now Malaysia, expressed the organization’s commitment to the partnership, stating, “Prevent Crime Now is honored to serve alongside you, NISU.”
In his closing remarks, Prof. Glenn G. Castor, Chairperson of the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Security Management, also expressed optimism about the collaboration, saying, “We are looking forward to this venture between these two parties: Northern Iloilo State University and Prevent Crime Now Malaysia.”
The MOU signing establishes a foundation for strengthened cooperation between NISU and Prevent Crime Now Malaysia, particularly in areas related to criminal justice, security, education, and other potential collaborative initiatives.
