Excerpts of ICC President & Founder Mr Manny Del Prado's Commencement Address
"I would also like to share with you, the experiences of one of those I talked to during the lunch I hosted for our ODE graduating students..... Sya ay isang Office Management graduating student. She used to work in a factory in Laguna. When the pandemic came, she lost her job. Being a single mother, she had to do something. So nervous as she was, she had to apply as an OFW in the United Arab Emirates. She worked as a domestic helper in Dubai. She handled 3 young kids who were hurting her. She wanted to quit, but, her employer would not allow that and accused her of hurting their kids instead. She went to prison for 3 months in Dubai. The Phil embassy helped her so she was able to go back to Manila ..... She tried to find work in Manila, but, could not. So she decided to apply again in the Middle East, as a domestic helper again, in spite of her horrible experience. This time she tried her luck in Riyadh in Saudi. She was lucky this time because her employer was not only good to her, but, encouraged her to study when she asked them if she can enroll in ICC’s Online Distance Education course ..... Naalala ko yung kasabihang “In the NAME OF LOVE; We find the STRENGTH TO OVERCOME ANY OBSTACLE.” Para sa anak mo ginawa mo lahat ito; Palakpakan po natin ICC SALAWAG Office Management graduating student, direct from RIYADH SAUDI ARABIA, Claren Itac."
