The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Siquijor Provincial Science and Technology Office actively participated in the "Handog ng Pangulo Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat" today, September 14, 2026, at the Dagukanan sa Kapitolyo in Polangyuta, Siquijor. To maximize community reach, the agency established an information booth detailing core developmental initiatives, including DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarships, the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP), Local Grants-in-Aid (GIA), and Community Empowerment Thru Science and Technology (CEST). Alongside the dissemination of these program frameworks, the team conducted an essential orientation on the Hazard Hunter PH platform, empowering residents with localized hazard assessment tools to strengthen disaster risk reduction and management awareness.
Complementing these educational efforts, DOST Siquijor facilitated direct public engagement by distributing technology-backed food products that highlight the practical impact of DOST research on health and local enterprise. Participants received samples of the Enhanced Nutribun, a highly nutritious product formulated by the DOST Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) and manufactured by Jainin's Cakes and Pastries, a licensed local producer. Furthermore, attendees were provided with complimentary servings from Tating's Ice Cream, serving as a tangible showcase of a successful micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) that has elevated its productivity and competitiveness through the technological interventions of the DOST SETUP initiative.
