On this day, 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟔, 𝟏𝟗𝟐𝟓, within the walls of 𝙃𝙤𝙜𝙜𝙨 𝙃𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙩 𝙇𝙖𝙛𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙀𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙣, 𝙋𝙚𝙣𝙣𝙨𝙮𝙡𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙖, 𝙐𝙎𝘼 a simple idea was born that would grow into a lifelong calling. Alpha Phi Omega began not as a brotherhood alone, but as a promise: to lead with integrity, to stand in genuine friendship, and to serve humanity without expectation of reward.

A hundred years later, that promise still lives. It lives in the hands that choose service over comfort, in leaders who listen before they speak, and in friendships forged not by convenience but by shared sacrifice and purpose. APO has taught us that leadership is not power, but responsibility; that friendship is not proximity, but loyalty; and that service is love made visible through action.

As we celebrate a century of Leadership, Friendship, and Service, we stand as one strong circle that is always bounded by the same ideals that first took shape in 1925. From one hall to the world, our legacy continues in every life touched and every hope renewed.

𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔: 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑯𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑴𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉 𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔

A gathering of 62 dedicated parents benefitted from an insightful lecture on mental health awareness dubbed “KADAMAY: Keeping Awareness, Developing Assistance, Maintaining Action for Your Mental Health” held yesterday, January 24th, at the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Session Hall, Guiuan Eastern Samar.

Organized by Alpha Phi Omega (APO) Theta Zeta Alumni Association, in partnership with Alpha Phi Omega Guiuan Alumni Association, Eastern Samar State University Guiuan Campus College of Education, and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), KADAMAY aimed to provide better understanding on each parent’s own well-being and, in turn, create a more supportive environment at home.

The lectures were presented by Dr. Kristine Cyrelle Mae V. Sison, Director of Guidance and Counselling of ESSU, and Sis Dr. Mico May M. Regis-Cayaco, Mental Health Advocate and Guidance Counselor of BetterMe Behavioral Health and Wellness Center in Palo, Leyte.

On one of the lectures during this session, it fostered parenting tips for the new and young generation which can help the participants forge a better communication with their children. This initiative highlights the idea that guiding a family begins with guiding oneself.

This activity is part of a Psychological Support Initiative series conducted by APO-TZAA to spread awareness on mental health, develop assistance programs for parents, and break the stigma surrounding mental well-being. Through these efforts, APO hopes that parents become encouraged to build a foundation of mental wellness, reinforcing the idea that a healthy and balanced parent can inspire positive change within the family.

Flyers and open forum amongst the parents were also conducted after the lectures.

Among the attendees of the activity are Dr. Eddie C. Manzano, Dean of the College of Education; Sis Marie Nessa Gardiola, APO Theta Zeta AA President; Sis Jannil Roda P. Estil-Mesa, APO Guiuan AA President; Sis Ma. Grecilda Salvacion Dado-Guimbaolibot, APO Eastern Samar Section Chair for Alumni; Brod Bert Jameson D. Daria, APO Eastern Samar Section Chair for Collegiate; Ms. Jessa Marie Padual, MSWDO representative; and other passionate brothers and sisters of Alpha Phi Omega.

Over thirty pupils of Brgy Barayong Day Care Center and Sitio Kauswagan Day Care Center displayed bright smiles as they received gifts during a community outreach program conducted by the Alpha Phi Omega Theta Zeta Alumni Association in partnership with Better Me Behavioral Health and Wellness Center on December 26, 2024 in Brgy. Barayong, Palo, Leyte.

Driven by the fraternity’s commitment to leadership, friendship and service, the activity dubbed as “Gifts of Hope” aimed to help the families of these remote communities. Centered on children, this initiative stemmed from shaping optimism among kids especially during their formative years. APO-TZAA together with Better Me Behavioral Health and Wellness Center confidently believes that such programs will create a lasting impact of hope and positivity in the young generation.

Among the items that were handed over to the schools and to the kids were smart televisions, bluetooth speaker, wall fans, educational books, art kits, goodie bags and food packs.

Gifts of Hope-outreach program is a yearly event conducted by APO-TZAA, encouraging others to spread kindness and generosity.

Today is a remarkable celebration of the 99 years of LEADERSHIP, FRIENDSHIP AND SERVICE. Let us continue to honor the legacy of all brothers and sisters of ALPHA PHI OMEGA who have made a significant impact to the community.

As we celebrate today, we also commemorate the brilliance and bravery of the minds that served as the foundation of our camaraderie; the strong bond of friendshp that nurtured our souls, and the selflessness that has become hopes in giving back to those who needed the most.

We look forward to more years of inspiring people. From every individual of the Alpha Phi Omega Theta Zeta Alumni Association, happy anniversary brothers and sisters! Strong the circle we, may we always be! 💙💛⚜️

On December 14, 2024, 𝐀𝐥𝐩𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐡𝐢 𝐎𝐦𝐞𝐠𝐚 - 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐚 𝐙𝐞𝐭𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝐀𝐏𝐎-𝐓𝐙) participated in "𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐏𝐎, 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐠 𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐏𝐎," a Mega Service organized by the Alpha Phi Omega - Eastern Visayas Administrative Region (𝐀𝐏𝐎-𝐄𝐕𝐀𝐑) in celebration of the 𝟗𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐥𝐩𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐡𝐢 𝐎𝐦𝐞𝐠𝐚.

At the event, various chapters and alumni associations of the fraternity across the region worked hand in hand to conduct basic medical services and provide medicines and goods to a total of 111 members of the 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐰𝐚 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐲, 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐫, fostering community engagement and meaningful assistance during the holiday season.
APO-TZ, together with the Alpha Phi Omega Theta Zeta - Alumni Association Charter #350, sponsored the 𝐒𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐚 service, which aimed to provide free slippers to the children of the community. The chapter also assisted in the distribution of medicines to the benificiaries and organized fun games for the children.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the participating chapters and alumni associations for their invaluable contributions and dedication to giving service to the community. May we continue to spread love and lend a hand to the people, especially those in the underserved communities.
