The Toledo Association of Private Schools (TAPS) warmly celebrated the spirit of unity and hope through its annual Christmas gathering, TAPS Pasko sa Toledo: Winter Night of Stars and Hope, held on December 9, 2025.
The evening began with a lively and heartfelt pre-show performance from the talented band of PAU Excellencia Global Academy, setting a festive tone for the celebration. This was followed by a solemn and meaningful opening prayer led by Leaton School Inc., reminding everyone of the true essence of the season. The program highlighted a touching Christmas message delivered by Mme. Ma. Donitha C. Hernando, TAPS President and President/Chancellor of De La Salle Andres Soriano Memorial College, who emphasized that โa single star can remind us that hope always finds a way to shine, and that creativity and passion can illuminate even the darkest moments of the yearโ. Adding inspiration to the evening, Toledo City Mayor Marjorie โJoieโ P. Perales shared an uplifting message through Mme. Mae Delia Tacandong, the City Administrator, who conveyed the cityโs appreciation for TAPS and its contributions to education and community development.
The celebration became even more vibrant with a series of performances from several participating schools, each showcasing their creativity, talent, and dedication. These included impressive presentations from De La Salle Andres Soriano Memorial College, St. Bernardinus for Educational Advancement Foundation Inc., Toledo Excellence School of Universal Inc., West Bay Learning Center, Sacred Heart of Poog Grammar School, and Consolatrix College of Toledo City. Each performance added color, joy, and holiday cheer to the night, making the event truly memorable. As a gesture of gratitude and recognition, the City Mayor presented Plaques of Recognition to all the participating schools for their outstanding involvement and support of the event.
Prestigious guests honored the celebration with their presence, including Dr. Gemma Gay Alvez, Chief Education Supervisor of the Schools Governance and Operations Division; Mme. Ma. Fe Divera, Senior Education Program Specialist; Mme. Trinidad S. Bubuli, City Tourism Officer; and Mme. Mae Delia Tacandong, City Administrator, Hon. Jeffrey Borja and Hon. Chris Niรฑo de Jesus. Their attendance underscored the strong partnership between schools, local government, and education leaders in shaping a brighter future for Toledo Cityโs learners. Overall, the occasion was a heartfelt celebration of community, faith, service, and the enduring hope that the Christmas season brings, making the Winter Night of Stars and Hope a truly shining moment for TAPS and the entire Toledo education community.
Heartfelt appreciation goes to our dedicated Culture and Arts In-Charge, Mr. Aldrin Magalzo, for his remarkable guidance and for training the DLSASMC performers, paving the way for such an exceptional showcase. Sincere thanks also to Ms. Blinky Antonnette Fuentes for her active and tireless role in organizing the event, and to Mr. Kenneth Russell Iglesia for his outstanding voice-over work that added vibrance and life to the celebration.
