𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 | 𝗔𝗱𝗹𝗮𝘄 𝘀𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗻

An event dedicated to honoring and promoting the richness of the Cebuano language and culture was held on February 19, 2026, at Cebu Technological University Main Campus. The event was organized by the university in collaboration with the Cebu City Cultural and Historical Affairs Commission.

𝗗𝗿. 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆𝗹 𝗡. 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, CTU-Tuburan Campus, was among the speakers and presented a talk titled “𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘍𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘔𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘍𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘩-𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴.”

The celebration brought together students, faculty, and staff in recognition of the Cebuano language and its cultural significance.

𝑪𝑻𝑼 𝑾𝒊𝒏𝒔 𝑩𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒛𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝗮𝘁 𝑹𝑪𝑨𝑭 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲; 𝑭𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑩𝑨𝑬𝑳 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑪𝑻𝑼 𝑻𝒖𝒃𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏 𝑨𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝑲𝒆𝒚 𝑪𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔

Five BAEL students were among the talented performers and creatives from 𝗖𝗧𝗨 𝗧𝘂𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻 who represented the entire CTU delegation and helped secure the 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹 in the Short and Sweet Play (Musical) competition during 𝗔𝗦𝗨𝗚𝗕𝗢𝗛𝗢𝗟 2026 – 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗨𝗖 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹, held on March 6, 2026, at the University of the Philippines Cebu.

The production explored the theme “𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵,” highlighting the realities and emotional landscapes shaped by the digital age. The project was led by BAEL students 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗬𝗮𝗺𝘀𝗼𝗻 as Director, 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱𝗮 as Story and Scriptwriter, and 𝗗𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘃 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘃𝗮 as Musical Arranger and Accompanist. Their creative vision came to life through the performances of BAEL students 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗻, 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱𝗮, and 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗶 𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗢𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀, whose portrayal brought depth and energy to the stage.

This achievement reflects how BAEL students continue to uphold the College’s standards of excellence in 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀.

Cebu Technological University Tuburan Campus – College of Arts and Sciences is delighted to announce that Shemiah Alterado, a BAEL student from CTU Tuburan Campus, as a member of the quartet representing CTU, helped secure 2nd runner-up in the Quartet Competition during the ASUGBOHOL 2026 – Regional PASUC Culture and Arts Festival, held on March 6, 2026 at the University of the Philippines Cebu.

This achievement proves that BAEL students continue to live up to the standards of excellence embodied by the College.
