The School of Advanced Studies proudly congratulates Engr. Marcos P. Pattaguan, Jr. on the successful defense of his dissertation proposal for the degree of Doctor in Public Administration. His dissertation proposal, titled “Effectiveness of Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Programs and Services: Basis for Policy Recommendations”, was successfully defended under the mentorship of Dr. Nelia Z. Cauilan.

As we approach the culmination of your advanced academic journeys, please be guided by SAS MEMO No. 3, s. 2025-2026 regarding the strict deadlines and requirements for the upcoming Graduation Exercises.

Please take note of these absolute timelines to ensure a seamless evaluation process by the Academic Council:

🗓️ TIMELINE OF CRITICAL DEADLINES
On or before May 29, 2026 – Conduct of Final Oral Defenses (Industry Immersion, Seminar Paper, Thesis, and Dissertation)

On or before June 1, 2026 – Submission of Final Manuscript (Hard-bound and electronic copies with fully signed approval sheets)

June 8, 2026 – Final Deliberation of Candidates (Academic Council Review)

June 26, 2026 (PM) – Graduation Ceremony / Official Commencement Exercises

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE: Failure to defend or submit finalized, corrected manuscripts on or before the specified dates will automatically disqualify you from participating in the Commencement Exercises. No extensions will be granted.

📚 SCHOLARLY OUTPUT REQUIREMENT (Master's Academic Track)
Pursuant to CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 21, Series of 2025, all Master's Academic Track graduands must present official evidence of submission of their research/creative work to an acceptable refereed outlet before clearance can be issued.

Acceptable Refereed Outlets: Peer-reviewed journals (national/international), academic conferences (proceedings), or peer-reviewed creative work platforms.

Required Evidence: Acknowledgment receipt, editorial email notification, or submission confirmation clearance attached as an appendix to your final manuscript on or before June 1, 2026.

📝 IMMEDIATE ACTION STEPS
Coordinate immediately with your Advisers and Panel Members to block off your final defense date.

Implement revisions promptly post-defense to secure all mandatory signatures.

Compile your publication/submission proof (for Academic Track).

Submit three (3) printed copies to the SAS Dean’s Office and email the PDF copy to [email protected], copy-furnished to [email protected] on or before the June 6 cutoff.

Preparing for the next big milestone in your academic journey? The Schedule of Comprehensive Examinations for 2026 is now available. Please take note of your batch assignments and the application process below:

🗓️ EXAMINATION SCHEDULE

All exams will be held from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM on the following dates:
1st Batch: May 7 – 9, 2026
2nd Batch: May 28 – 30, 2026
3rd Batch: June 4 – 6, 2026

📝 HOW TO APPLY

Get the Form: Pick up a printed application form at the Dean’s Office, BCJ Campus, Leonarda, or request an electronic copy via email at [email protected].

Process Signatures: Ensure your form is signed by the University Libraries, Registrar, and Accounting Office.

Final Submission: Submit your completed form to the Academic Dean for approval at least one week before your scheduled exam date.

Only students who have successfully completed all academic courses are permitted to take the exam.
