Some careers begin with a profession, but grow into a wider purpose.

For our next , Arch. Moreno looks back on the experiences that shaped her career and shares how the foundation she received from USLT continues to guide her as an architect, educator, housing professional, and public servant.

A BS Architecture graduate of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao in 1988, Ar. Moreno has built a career that spans professional practice, academe, housing and resettlement, and government service.

Her journey also brought her back to USLT as an educator, allowing her to experience the institution first as a student and later as a faculty member.

Today, she serves as Division Chief of the Public Housing and Settlements Division at the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development – Region 2.

Across these different roles, she has carried with her a commitment to professional growth, service, and the communities she works with.

USLT inks 100% passing rate in October 2026 ECTLE; produces 2 Electronics Technicians, 1 Electronics Engineer

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) recorded 100% passing rate in the October 2026 Electronics Technicians Licensure Examination (ECTLE), producing two Electronics Technicians.

Further, the university also celebrates the success of one Louisian for passing the October 2026 Electronics Engineers Licensure Examination (ECELE), achieving a 25% passing rate.

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) extends its congratulations to 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗚𝗶𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶 𝗭𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘇, 𝗖𝗣𝗔, 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗻𝘂𝘀, on his appointment as the new Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

A High School graduate of Batch 1996, Class 4-Mahatma Gandhi, Atty. Lopez continues to bring pride to his alma mater through his service in the government sector.

Before his appointment to the DPWH, he served the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for nearly a decade and was appointed its Secretary in 2025.

USLT's Hapag-Asa receives ₱30,000 worth of vouchers from Foodpanda

The University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT), through its Advancement Office, extends its gratitude to Foodpanda for its partnership and generous provision of ₱30,000 worth of vouchers for the Hapag-Asa Program of the Community Engagement and CICM Advocacies.

The vouchers will support the program’s efforts to provide food assistance to college students as they prepare for their upcoming midterm examinations.

USLT sincerely appreciates Foodpanda’s partnership and commitment to supporting initiatives that respond to the needs of the Louisian community. This collaboration reflects how partnerships between institutions and private organizations can help extend meaningful assistance to students, especially during demanding academic periods.

This initiative supports SDG 2: Zero Hunger by helping address students’ food needs and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through the collaboration between USLT and Foodpanda to support the Hapag-Asa Program. It also contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education by helping students meet their nutritional needs as they prepare for their midterm examinations.

The university extends its congratulations to Engr. Jokier Joaquin N. Abrigo, PECE, ME-ECE, on successfully passing the Professional Electronics Engineers Oral Examination and Technical Evaluation.

A proud Louisian, Engr. Abrigo completed his high school education in 2006, earned his Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering in 2011, and finished his Master of Engineering major in Electronics and Communications Engineering in 2017. Additionally, he served the university as a Part-Time College Instructor from 2016-2019.

His achievement reflects his dedication to his profession and his continued pursuit of excellence. From his years as a Louisian student and instructor to this significant professional milestone, he continues to bring pride to the Louisian community.

Congratulations on this remarkable achievement, Engr. Abrigo! May you continue to excel in your field and inspire fellow Louisians through your commitment to professional growth and excellence.

| Soaring with Celestial Unity at SABH Week 2026

The School of Accountancy, Business, and Hospitality (SABH) of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) soared through the skies on October 12 to 16, 2026, for the SABH Week 2026, with the theme “Alapaap: Sa Luklukan ng Kalangitan.” Salinlahi ni Mayari, Hanay ni Hanan, and Lipi ni Tala competed with bravery, skill, and intellect as the three featured teams.

The week-long event manifested a vibrant showcase of strength, creativity, talent and camaraderie. Team captains were dedicated to lead their contingents with determination, eager to claim victory and departmental pride.

USLT BSAc, BSMA students explore top accounting firms

To integrate academic theory with industry practice, third-year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSAc) and fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting (BSMA) students from the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT) conducted educational firm visits across top accounting firms in Makati City from September 2 to October 2, 2026.

The off-campus engagement allowed the students to understand career opportunities, observe corporate operations, and experience workplace culture firsthand.

The first batch were 45 fourth-year BSMA students from September 2 to 4, followed by 47 third-year BSAc students from September 30 to October 2.

USLT VP for Academics and Research completes international leadership program in Germany

Dr. Luisa B. Aquino, Vice President for Academics and Research of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT), has completed the DIES LEADx – Leadership for Transforming Higher Education Institutions Executive Programme conducted from August 2025 to October 2026, culminating in the awarding of her Certificate of Completion in Potsdam, Germany.

Through blended learning sessions, Dr. Aquino completed online learning sessions and in-person workshops in Potsdam. It covered five key areas: strategy, leadership and governance; leading change and organizational development; managing people, conflict and communication; strategic stakeholder engagement and institutional alliances; and empowered leadership and personal growth.

The programme, implemented by the University of Potsdam under the Dialogue on Innovative Higher Education Strategies (DIES), brought together women in senior leadership positions in higher education from Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America to strengthen their leadership and institutional management capabilities. It is jointly coordinated by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK), with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

USLT strengthens global academic linkages thru international undertaking in China

Marie Joyce Z. Aggabao, MBA, Head of the Accountancy Department of the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao (USLT), represented the university in an international undertaking in China from September 29 to October 3, 2026, to explore opportunities for academic collaboration, leadership development, and international partnerships.

The undertaking featured institutional visits to Xiamen University in Fujian Province and Peking University in Beijing, providing opportunities to gain insights into the practices and approaches of leading Chinese higher education institutions.

It also included leadership roundtables and collaborative dialogues with Chinese education officials on language learning and holistic education. Aggabao likewise participated in dialogues with the Philippine Ambassador to China and the Consul General in Xiamen, strengthening opportunities for cross-cultural exchange and
international academic engagement.
