To ensure the safety and quality of the drinking water, samples were collected on ๐€๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ–, ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”, and tested by ๐‡๐ฒ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฅ๐š๐› ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐š๐ง๐ฒ, a DOH-accredited laboratory. Pangasinan State University (PSU) convened its Administration and Finance Council on September 4, 2026, bringing together key officials and administrative leaders to deliberate on matters vital to the Universityโ€™s operational efficiency, financial sustainability and institutional development.

The meeting, in a hybrid set-up, was led by University President Dr. Elbert M. Galas upon determination of a quorum by Acting Board Secretary Dr. Aileen Batang.

Agenda discussions focused on strengthening administrative systems, optimizing the utilization of institutional resources, and addressing operational concerns that support the effective delivery of University programs and services.

The Council also emphasized the need for continuous coordination among concerned offices to ensure that policies and initiatives are cascaded and implemented efficiently and consistently across the University.

Other matters including the authority to enter into a MOA and MOU with various institutions were also scrutinized by the Council. Approved proposals will be endorsed by the Council to the Board of Regents.

As PSU advances its development agenda, the Administration and Finance Council remains a vital mechanism for ensuring that financial and administrative strategies are aligned with the Universityโ€™s vision, mission, and strategic prioritiesโ€”ultimately strengthening institutional performance and enhancing the quality of services delivered to the PSU community.

The 44-member Council includes the President, Vice Presidents, Executive Directors and University Directors.

This advanced water system ensures that students, faculty, and staff have access to safe, clean, and healthy drinking water every day. Through multi-stage ultrafiltration and UV treatment, this initiative keeps the university community hydrated and safe.

The water source has officially been tested and declared safe for drinking! Pangasinan State Universityโ€“Urdaneta City Campus convened its campus officials for the Preparation and Submission of the 2027 Budget Proposal, Project Procurement Management Plan (PPMP), and Annual Procurement Plan (APP) on September 9, 2026, at the PSU-Urdaneta Campus Audio-Visual Room.

Pangasinan State Universityโ€“Urdaneta City Campus marks another milestone in academic excellence as three of its degree programs earned Level III and Level IV Re-accredited status from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc.

The Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology programs attained Level IV Re-accredited status, with accreditation valid until June 30, 2031. Meanwhile, the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering program received Level III Re-accredited status, valid until 2030.

The programs underwent AACCUP assessment activities in June 2026. These achievements affirm the campusโ€™s sustained commitment to academic quality, responsive instruction, effective program management, and continuous institutional improvement.

Pangasinan State University has strengthened its quality assurance standing as eight academic programs across campuses earned Level III and Level IV re-accredited status from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc.
Leading the latest accreditation results are three programs that attained Level IV Re-accredited status: the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd) of Lingayen Campus, and the AB in English Language and BS in Information Technology of Urdaneta City Campus. The BTLEd accreditation is valid until June 15, 2031, while the two Level IV programs of Urdaneta City Campus are valid until June 30, 2031.
University President ๐——๐—ฟ. ๐—˜๐—น๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜ ๐— . ๐—š๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜€ attributed the achievement to PSUโ€™s sustained commitment to strengthening academic programs and embedding quality assurance in the Universityโ€™s operations.
โ€œAccreditation is more than a recognition of what we have accomplished; it is a measure of our continuing responsibility to our students. Every program that advances in accreditation reflects the collective work of our faculty, personnel and administrators to provide an education that meets, and continually strives to exceed the standards of quality and relevance,โ€ President Galas said.
The programs underwent AACCUP assessment activities in June 2026.
Meanwhile, Level III Re-accredited status was granted to the BS in Business Administration major in Marketing Management of Asingan Campus; BS in Civil Engineering of Urdaneta City Campus; and BS in Office Administration of San Carlos City Campus. The three programs have re-accreditation validity until 2030.
Also included in the AACCUP Board Action are the BS in Mathematics and Master in Development Management major in Public Management of Urdaneta City Campus and School of Advanced Studies, which received Level III Re-accredited status, with accreditation valid until June 30, 2027.
The latest results build on PSUโ€™s continuing efforts to institutionalize quality assurance across its campuses. Earlier this year, President Galas emphasized that accreditation provides the University with a sound basis for improvement, strategic planning, restructuring and staff development.
Central to the Universityโ€™s accreditation initiatives is the Office of the Vice President for Quality Assurance (OVPQA) headed by Dr. Celeste T. Mercado, which works with the campuses in strengthening compliance, documentation, institutional assessment and continuous improvement mechanisms. PSUโ€™s official roster of University officials confirms Mercado as Vice President for Quality Assurance.
The accomplishment was likewise supported by the leadership of the Campus Executive Directors of the four campuses involved: Dr. Marie Claire M. Briones, CED of Lingayen Campus; Dr. Roy C. Ferrer, CED of Asingan Campus; Dr. Renato E. Salcedo, CED of Urdaneta City Campus; and Dr. Gudelia M. Samson, CED of San Carlos City Campus. Their current designations are reflected in PSUโ€™s official roster of University officials.
With the latest AACCUP Board Actions, PSU continues to advance a culture in which accreditation serves not merely as a compliance requirement but as a mechanism for continuous institutional improvement, advancing academic programs and ensuring that PSUnians receive education responsive to professional, national and global standards.
