Mountain View College Celebrates Language Week with Lunchtime Trivia Fun

Mountain View College is buzzing with excitement as the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Education spearhead the much-anticipated Language Week. Today, during lunch at the College Cafeteria, students were treated to a lively Language Trivia Contest. The event seamlessly blended education with entertainment, transforming a regular meal into a vibrant learning experience.

As students enjoyed their lunch, the trivia contest sparked friendly competition, testing their knowledge of various languages and cultures. Laughter and cheers filled the air as participants engaged in this fun and educational activity, reinforcing the importance of language and communication in a dynamic, interactive setting.

The Language Trivia Contest is just one of many events planned for Language Week, aiming to celebrate the richness of languages and their role in fostering cultural understanding within the MVC community.

Filipino Renaissance Fair Brings Culture to Life at Mountain View College

Mountain View College continues its vibrant celebration of Language Week with the Filipino Renaissance Fair, a cultural extravaganza where students proudly showcased traditional attires, engaging displays, and impressive talents. Sponsored by the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Education, tonight's event provided a rich, immersive experience into the heart and soul of Filipino culture.

The evening was marked by the enthusiastic support of the College Administrators, Faculty and Staff, and students who all donned their national attire, adding to the colorful tapestry of the event. The fair offered a unique opportunity for students to connect with their heritage, celebrating the diverse aspects of Filipino culture in a fun and interactive way.

From traditional attires to creative exhibits, the Filipino Renaissance Fair highlighted the essence of Filipino identity, fostering a deeper appreciation for cultural traditions. Events like this are integral to the Wholistic Education that Mountain View College offers, nurturing not only the mind but also the spirit and cultural awareness of its students.

Language Week is Coming Up!

Join us for the Language Week Celebration at Mountain View College, a festivities of the beauty and diversity of languages from around the world! From August 25-30, the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Education are bringing you an exciting lineup of events that highlight the power of language in our global community.

Event Schedule:

Tuesday - Switch Game Show(August 27, 2024)
🕒 Time: 7:30pm-9:00pm (After Worship until Curfew)
📍 Location: Oliverio Hall

Wednesday - Language Trivia Contest (August 28, 2024)
🕒 Time: 11:00am-12:59pm (Lunch Time)
📍 Location: MVC Cafeteria

Thursday - Filipino Renaissance Fair (August 29, 2024)
🕒 Time: 5:30-8:30PM
📍 Location: Linkin Park
