Through your warmth, humor, and genuine care, you have made the NSTP Office more than just a workspace and it became a place filled with joy, comfort, and memories that we will always cherish. Your presence has been a light that made even the busiest days feel lighter.

The National Service Training Program โ€“ Literacy Training Service (NSTP-LTS) students of Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) successfully concluded their final term requirement under NSTP 2: Community Immersion!

As part of their goal to implement sustainable and impactful interventions for partner communities, the students conducted the outreach program "Project HIRAYA: Hope Is Reaching All Young Angels" from April 20 to May 10, 2026, at the City Social Welfare and Development Center (CSWDC) in Sta. Barbara, Zamboanga City.

This activity was a joint collaboration between the classes handled by NSTP Instructors, Mr. Philevert A. Ewa and Mr. Aldren B. Castaรฑares. By combining resources, skills, and efforts, both groups delivered a comprehensive and meaningful service to our beneficiaries.

HIRAYA, an ancient Filipino term, means "the fruit of one's hopes, dreams, and aspirations" โ€” rooted in the saying "Hiraya Manawari" or "May the dreams of your heart come true." This was the very heart of our mission: to nurture hope and dreams among the children we served.

The program was anchored on Republic Act No. 9163 (NSTP Act of 2001), which mandates activities for the general welfare and betterment of community life. All students strictly followed guidelines under CHED Memorandum Order No. 63, s. 2017, ensuring safe, proper, and compliant off-campus engagement. True to the LTS component, our students acted as facilitators of knowledge and values.

Our beneficiaries were the Children in Street Situations (CiSS) under the care of CSWDC. Our student-volunteers facilitated specialized sessions focused on basic literacy, storytelling, and values formation โ€” aiming to give these children encouragement, joy, and inspiration to pursue education and dream big.

This experience was more than a requirement; it was a meaningful step toward service, learning, and shared dreams. Many thanks to our NSTP Coordinator Asst. Prof. Reynelsa D. Tumanda -Reynz and College President Dr. Roy Lim Valesco for unwavering support for this purposeful program.
We are proud to have shared a piece of our hearts and helped make their Hiraya come alive.
