ABOUT LANA SARDINAS:
LANA SARDINAS: Isang Papet Musikal explores themes of forgiveness and hope. Originally, the play intended to discuss about the destruction of the rich marine resources of the Sulu-Celebes Seas. However, director and writer Kiko Miranda decided to stretch the intention further by injecting issues and concerns that a child of Zamboanga faces.
Life under the sea is very much like life on land.
Lana Sardinas, on her journey to find her parents, realizes the importance of forgiveness. Forgiveness of one's enemies. Forgiveness of one's own faults.
PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN SHOW
What is a Pay-What-You-Can show?
Pay-What-You-Can gives the audience freedom to pay whatever amount they feel the show deserves and the amount they can afford. Payments are done after the show.
Why do a Pay-What-You-Can show?
The production team of Lana Sardinas believes that trust between the audience and the performers/artists should be built to create a connection that will sustain a culture of performance in the university. It is not to expect that we will profit from a pay-what-you-can concept. We might, but most of the times, maybe we won't. What is more important is we create and nourish a mutual connection of supporting each other - artists to audience, audience to artists. We want an inclusive and collaborative theatre culture in Ateneo. One that is from the students, for the students, by the students.
It is also CPVA's way of making arts and performance accessible to the students and the community.
