Ever wonder why ships/boats are referred to as females? Because they carry lives inside them across the sea, much like mothers carry a baby inside them also.
Every motherโs journey is unique, but no mother should ever feel she has to walk it alone. Today, May 6th, marks World Maternal Mental Health Day, a global reminder to prioritize the well-being of those who give life.
With 1 in 7 women experiencing postpartum depression or anxiety, it is vital to remember that these challenges are common, treatable, and never a reflection of a motherโs worth. By speaking openly, we break the stigma and ensure that seeking support is seen as a sign of strength rather than a struggle.
We can all play a part by checking in on the mothers in our lives with genuine kindness and offering a helping hand where it's needed most. If you are struggling today, please know that it is not your fault and you are not alone. Letโs commit to fostering a community where every mother feels seen, heard, and supported in her mental health journey. ๐
And the Psychology Society wishes all mothers in the world to be healthy !!
