INTRODUCTION

National Paramedical College, Bahawalpur started its journey in 2002 to meet the economic, technological and health challenges in the Southern region of Punjab. And among the job holders the number of skillful population further declines. In such circumstances the availability of experts, especially in the field of health in the far flung areas is very difficult. This has resulted in

the crimes like quackery and increasing danger to health in this area. So there was a dire need to establish a reputable paramedical institute to fulfill the requirements of the ever changing era. Hence the establishment of National Paramedical College, Bahawalpur with the paramount objective of providing quality education and training in the field of paramedics became essential. The NPMC became functional in 2003. National Paramedical College, Bahawalpur was affiliated with Punjab Medical Faculty, Lahore in 2004. The college started in 2004 with Dispenser Course, Operation Theater Assistant Course and Medical Laboratory Technology course. In 2012 Pharmacy Department was established. NPMC successfully got accredited with Pharmacy Council of Pakistan in 2014 and immediately started regular classes of Pharmacy Technician course were started. Thus with the modest beginning NPMC soon found its place among the top institutes providing diploma education in allied health sciences in this region of country. Today about 700 students have successfully earned their diplomas from NPMC. NPMC is aware of its responsibility in providing quality education and making every effort to retain this excellence. In this regard the institute has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the hospitals and Pharmacies where its students are getting technical expertise under the supervision of world class experts.These efforts have made us able to develop a rich pool of human resource that will in turn benefit specifically Pakistani society and generally the whole world.
