The Department of Sociology, University of Chitral, proudly participated in a one-day seminar held at the University of Chitral to commemorate World Water Day and the International Day of Forests, in collaboration with Aga Khan Agency for Habitat (AKAH).
Dr. Sanaullah, HoD Department of Sociology delivered an insightful presentation on the importance of integrating gender perspectives into sustainable water management, highlighting the need for inclusive and community-driven environmental solutions.
The seminar provided a valuable platform for dialogue on critical issues such as water conservation, climate resilience, green building practices, and forest protection. It was inspiring to witness active engagement from students, faculty, and experts, all committed to building a more sustainable future.

The University of Chitral's Departments of Urdu and Sociology, in partnership with Blue Veins organization, hosted "The Art of Peace" event. Students showcased artwork promoting harmony, peace, tolerance, and mutual coexistence. The event was attended by Dr. Sahib Khan, Dr. Sana Ullah, and Dr. Nadeem Hassan, who praised the students' efforts and stressed the importance of peace in socioeconomic development. They encouraged students to share messages of brotherhood, tolerance, and respect with society.

Department of Sociology, University of Chitral, Participated in a Seminar on "Consultation on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) as a Public Health Issue". A seminar was organized by the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Trichmir Hotel Chitral. Dr. Habib Nawab from the Department of Sociology represented the University of Chitral. The session was led by Ms. Qudsia Mahtab Mehmood and Ms. Shazia Sultan, Gender Specialists from the Aga Khan Foundation, Pakistan. The workshop featured discussions on GBV in Chitral, focusing on referral mechanisms ensuring confidentiality and support for affected individuals. AKRSP appreciated the inclusion of Gender Studies and Sociology of Human Rights in the BS Sociology curriculum, seeing it as a step towards awareness and reduction of GBV. They expressed support for gender-related activities at the university level. District departments from across Chitral participated in the consultative workshop.
