WDC Shines at LAIN 2026 with Women Entrepreneurship Showcase

Government College University Faisalabad organized the two-day โ€œLyallpur Academia Industry Nexus and Expo (LAIN 2026)โ€ to strengthen academia-industry collaboration by bringing together researchers, entrepreneurs, innovators, industrialists and the business community under one platform.

The Women Development Center GCUF actively participated in the mega event by setting up a variety of women-led entrepreneurial and cultural stalls, attracting a large number of visitors and buyers. The showcased stalls included Alurea House, Artfull Allure, Craftique, ArtisanKnotss, Stillwarm, Crystal Shine Gallery, Nail Art and Craft, MH Accessories, Derma Sens, Flowey Dowey, Decorinzar, LME Collection, Hurab Handcrafted Palace, Mehndi Stall, Cultural Stall, Sleek, ARTLINK, Palmistry and Zainab Collection.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam appreciated the efforts of Prof Dr Zahra Batool for promoting women entrepreneurship, creativity and industry engagement through the platform.

GCUF Vice Chancellor Briefs Governor Punjab on Academic Progress and Global Partnerships

Vice Chancellor Government College University Faisalabad, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, called on Sardar Saleem Haider Khan Governor/Chancellor Punjab at the Governorโ€™s House and briefed him on the universityโ€™s academic progress, research achievements and development initiatives.

During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor highlighted reforms focused on merit, transparency and accountability, stating that the university had made notable progress in research, innovation and global rankings. He said curricula of degree programmes had been updated in line with contemporary academic and industry needs to improve educational quality.
Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam also briefed the Governor on initiatives promoting innovation and entrepreneurship through the universityโ€™s incubation centre and industry linkages, aimed at supporting student-led ventures and strengthening academia-industry collaboration. He further shared details of expanding academic partnerships with institutions in China, Turkey and member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan appreciated the universityโ€™s efforts to improve educational standards and international collaborations. Government College University Faisalabad Signs MoUs with Leading Industries at LAIN 2026

Government College University Faisalabad signed 12 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with leading national and international industries during the mega event โ€œLyallpur Academia Industry Nexus and Expo (LAIN 2026)โ€ held at the Quaid-i-Azam Auditorium.

The MoUs were signed between Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam and chief executive officers and representatives of prominent companies belonging to the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing sectors. The agreements were aimed at strengthening academia-industry collaboration, promoting joint research initiatives, facilitating studentsโ€™ internships, and aligning academic activities with the emerging needs of modern industries.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor said that universities must play an active role in addressing industrial challenges through innovation, research, and skilled human resource development. He added that collaboration between academia and industry was essential for sustainable economic growth and technological advancement.
