The Annual Dinner of the Department was successfully held on 21st May 2026. The event was attended by more than 120 participants, including Dean Faculty of Engineering & Technology Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf Bhatti, Chairman Electrical Engineering Dr. Kashif Nisar Paracha, respected faculty members, and students of the department.

The event took place at the newly constructed Expo Hall, which provided a comfortable indoor environment for all participants, especially during the thunderstorm that occurred during the function. Special appreciation is extended to Engr. M. Ibrahim Khan for his valuable support, special efforts, and provision of backup generator facilities that contributed to the smooth conduct of the event.

The evening commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat, followed by student performances and a memorable Qawwali presentation by a dedicated group of performers. The program concluded with dinner and an enjoyable gathering that created many memorable moments for all attendees.
The enthusiastic participation reflected the excitement and positive spirit among students and faculty alike. The department aims to continue this tradition regularly in the coming years, Insha’Allah.

The department expresses sincere gratitude to the university administration for providing the Expo Hall and to everyone whose efforts contributed to making the event successful. Special thanks are also extended to Engr. Ubaid Ullah and Engr. Zeeshan Haider for their excellent coordination, discipline management, and support in concluding the arrangements and clearing the premises after the event.

PEC Accreditation Team Visits GCUF

A delegation from the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) visited the Department of Electrical Engineering and Technology, Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), for the re-accreditation of the BS Electrical Engineering programme (Batches 2022–2025).

The team, led by Engr. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aamir, conducted a comprehensive evaluation, including laboratory inspections, course file reviews, and interactions with faculty and students. The delegation expressed satisfaction with the department’s performance, noting its strong alignment with PEC guidelines and Washington Accord standards.

The team was received by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam. During the visit, Dean Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf Bhatti and Chairman Engr. Dr. Kashif Nisar Paracha presented key academic and programme developments.

The BS Electrical Engineering programme follows an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) system, supported by rigorous Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) processes, ensuring compliance with international standards and PEC requirements.

With 18 graduated batches and a consistent record of PEC accreditation—including a three-year accreditation awarded in 2023—the department continues to demonstrate its commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement.

Electrical Engineering Department Hosts Successful 10 days Industrial Training on PLC, HMI & SCADA at GCUF.

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Technology Successfully hosted the Industrial Training on PLC, HMI and SCADA, arranged by Institute of Professional Excellence and Innovation (IPEI).

The Awareness Seminar followed by a Certificate Awarding Ceremony of Industrial Training Course on PLC, HMI and SCADA, made another milestone in strengthening academia–industry collaboration.

The Vice Chancellor GCUF, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam also addressed the gathering and emphasised the critical need for strong industrial collaboration. He encouraged the department to continue organizing such impactful training programs.

During his address, Prof Dr Abdul Rauf Bhatti, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology appreciated the continuous efforts of the department in bridging the gap between academia and industry.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates among participants.

Dr. Kashif Nisar Paracha, Chairman of Electrical Engineering and Technology Department concluded the event with vote of thanks to the IPEI management, The Honourable Vice Chancellor for his continuous support, faculty and students for their participations.

The Re-Accreditation Visit of the National Technology Council (NTC) to the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Government College University Faisalabad was successfully conducted on 16–17 December 2025.

Strengthening Global Research Collaboration | GCUF x ITU

Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf Bhatti, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), is currently on an official visit to Turkey at the invitation of Istanbul Technical University (ITU) the world’s oldest engineering university, established in 1773.

During his visit, Prof. Dr. Bhatti explored various Research Centres and Laboratories at ITU and held productive meetings with leading research groups including Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) – Prof. Dr. Levent Trabzon (Director)
Power Electronics – Dr. Mehmet Onur Gulbahce (Head)
Electrical Machines Group – Mr. Guven
Electrical Engineering Department – Dr. Suat Ilhan (Vice Chairperson)

The discussions focused on mutual research opportunities, innovation in engineering, and academic collaboration between the two universities.
Dr. Bhatti also shared his valuable insights with MS and PhD students, offering guidance on emerging research areas and global best practices.

Both GCUF and ITU have agreed to continue strengthening their academic and research linkages, fostering multidisciplinary international collaboration for the advancement of science, technology, and education.
