Participants were trained in preparing policy brief templates, translating research findings into practical policy recommendations, and developing concise and impactful communication strategies for policymakers and stakeholders.
During the interactive sessions, participants collectively prepared and presented a policy brief to enhance their practical understanding of policy analysis, science communication, and evidence-based policymaking.
Dr. Muhammad Ejaz Qureshi shared insights from the Australian agricultural research and policy system and highlighted the role of institutions in strengthening governance, policy coherence, and science-policy communication. He emphasized that research projects should not merely produce reports and academic publications but should also demonstrate practical relevance and measurable impact on policymaking and society.
Prof. Dr. M. Asif Kamran stated that the workshop aimed to strengthen the policy engagement and communication skills of faculty members and promote stronger linkages among research, institutions, and policymaking processes. He added that such initiatives would help improve interdisciplinary collaboration and enhance the role of universities in policy making process to address agricultural and food policy challenges.
