Request for Rescheduling of Missed/Unplanned Paper(s) - Summer 2024 Final Term Examinations

NOTE:

The reschedule chance shall be provided only once.

Fee Non-refundable: The rescheduling fee is non-refundable in any case irrespective of his/her appearance in the rescheduled paper(s).

Fee: Fee voucher(s) of prescribed fee shall be payable before the announcement of the Summer 2024 Final Term result.

Last date /time to apply: Last date /time to apply for rescheduling of Missed/Unplanned paper(s) for both LOCAL and OVERSEAS is October, 10th 2024 @ 03:00 PM.

Reschedule Exam Date: The Rescheduled Exam for both LOCAL and OVERSEAS students shall be held only on Friday, 11th October 2024.

PROCEDURE:

Log in to VULMS.

Open VULMS-->Student Services-->Examinations Department--> Apply for Rescheduling of Papers.
(The missed paper(s) shall be available for rescheduling after 24 hours of actual paper time.)

Select Preferred City of Appearance from the drop-down list.
For Local: Students in Pakistan shall Select a local center.
For Overseas: (Overseas Students shall select city asโ€œOverseasโ€).

Submit Request.

Once your request is duly processed, a confirmation email shall be sent to your VU email address (Please check Inbox/Spam/Junk-Email) from [email protected].
(University requires at least 24-48 hours for processing your request).

The schedule for rescheduled paper(s) shall be updated on your Exam Entrance Slip. Now, you must take a fresh printout of your Exam Entrance slip from https://datesheet.vu.edu.pk

Announcement for Course Selection

Fall 2024 Semester

(Semester/ Classes Commencement Date: Monday, October 14, 2024)

Dear Students,

The 'Course Selection' link will be active from Wednesday, September 25, 2024, under the 'Course Selection' tab in VULMS. Students are advised to log into their VULMS account and select their courses immediately on or before the semester commencement date. The last date to add or drop courses for all students is Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Tuition fee vouchers once issued after this date will not be revised.

Students who are currently enrolled in Summer 2024 semester will be eligible to make course selection after the declaration of Summer 2024 Semester result on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Important Notes:

Newly admitted students, enrolled in the 1st semester of their respective study program, are given pre-selected courses. However, students enrolled through BS Entry Route may select their courses, accordingly.
Existing/ continuing students must make their course selection as mentioned above. Failing to enroll in any course(s) he/she will be treated as โ€œINACTIVE STUDENTโ€ during the semester and a fine will also be imposed under โ€œSemester Freeze Rulesโ€.
Course/ workload (Credit Hours) limits have been prescribed and published separately for each study program in โ€œCourse Selection Rulesโ€ given in the โ€œStudent Handbookโ€. Students must read the rules carefully before making their course selection.
Guidelines/Explanations:

Students are expected to follow the prescribed โ€œsemester wise study schemeโ€ of their respective study program so that their scholarship eligibility may not be affected (See Scholarship Rules).
Continuously enrolling maximum course/workload in each semester does not mean that a study program can be completed earlier than its minimum prescribed residential requirement.
Course Pre-requisite Rule requires enrollment and qualifying of basic/introductory courses before enrolling an advanced level course. Therefore, the said rule must be followed and given due care while making course selection.
Maximum degree/diploma time duration: Students who have availed the maximum time duration degree completion period are NOT allowed to make course selections.
Students with blocked VULMS (due to non-payment of fee) will not be allowed to make their course selection, unless they deposit their outstanding dues and get their LMS accounts active from the Accounts Department.
Grade Improvement Policy A student may improve a course(s) in which he/she obtained low grades as per Course Selection Rules.
Guidelines/Explanations:

Failed course(s) can be repeated until qualified.
Improved/better grade of a course will substitute/replace the previous/lower grade of a course.
In case of non-improvement of grade, the previous better grade will stand and counted towards CGPA calculation.
A student may repeat only once those course(s) of the previous semester(s) in which he/she had secured the lowest grade before completion of entire course work program and mark pass out.
Declaration: I hereby acknowledge that I have read and completely understood the above rules and guidelines including course selection, scholarship and Semester Freeze rules etc. I understand that I shall be responsible for the consequence of violation of said rules and thus promise to abide by the rules framed by the University from time to time.

VIRTUAL UNIVERSITY OF PAKISTAN

SUMMER SEMESTER RULES (2024)

The Summer Semester will be an optional semester.
The Summer Semester duration will be 9 weeks.
Fees will be charged on a per credit hour basis for the enrolled courses as per university rules.
The contact hours per week during the Summer Semester will be more than the regular semester to cover the course contents in reduced time duration of the semester.
All academic and assessment activities will be conducted in the summer semester as per the university academic regulations.
A student must have attended at least one semester at Virtual University to enroll in Summer Semester.
The Summer Semester will be available for students to retake failed courses (where they have received an โ€˜Fโ€™ grade) or to repeat courses for grade improvement.
Lab and practicum courses can also be registered during the Summer Semester for failure, repetition, or improvement.
A student will be allowed to register for a maximum of 8 credit hours (i.e. max 2 theory courses and one Lab course).
Students cannot enroll in the advanced course(s) for the next semester(s). However, they can enroll where the time bar is a constraint, a maximum of 8 credit hours (two courses)
subject to the approval of the committee.
Mid-term and Final-term examinations in Summer Semester will be conducted according to the schedule given by the Registrarโ€™s Office of the Virtual University.
The Virtual University reserves the right to offer, amend, or discontinue Summer Semester offerings based on the Universityโ€™s needs and resources.
