جامعہ گجرات کے شعبہ امور طلبہ کے زیر اہتمام تدارک و انسدادِ منشیات کے تناظر میں ایک آگاہی سیمینار کا انعقاد حافظ حیات کیمپس میں ہوا۔ سیمینار کا مقصد نوجوان طلبہ کو منشیات کے مُضر اثرات سے متعارف کرواتے ہوئے انہیں بطور سماجی سفیر سماج و معاشرہ میں صحت مند اقدا رکے فروغ کے لیے اپنے مقام و کردار سے روشناس کروانا تھا۔ سیمینار کا انعقاد ڈائریکٹوریٹ برائے سٹوڈنٹ افیئرز نے ریجنل ڈائریکٹوریٹ اینٹی نارکوٹکس فورس پنجاب کے تعاون و اشتراک سے کیا تھا۔ سیمینار کے مہمان خصوصی اسسٹنٹ ڈائریکٹراینٹی نارکوٹکس فورس محمد فاروق چوہدری تھے۔میزبانی کا فریضہ ڈائریکٹر سٹوڈنٹ افیئرز شمع تحسین نے سر انجام دیا۔سیمینار کی معاونت اور کوارڈینیشن میاں خرم ارشاد اور طارق اعجاز نے بخوبی سر انجام دیتے ہوئے مختلف شعبہ جات کے طلبہ کو منشیات کے خلاف ایک پلیٹ فارم پر اکٹھا کرنے کی سعی کی۔ محمد فاروق چوہدری نے کہا کہ منشیات کا سرطان معاشرہ کی بنیادوں کو کھوکھلا کرتے ہوئے ناقابل تلافی نقصان کا باعث بنتا ہے۔ نشہ ایک ایسی لعنت ہے جو معاشرہ کی رگوں میں آہستہ آہستہ سماتے ہوئے سماجی اقدار کی شکست کا شاخسانہ ثابت ہوتا ہے۔ نوجوان طلبہ ملک و قوم کا قیمتی اثاثہ ہیں۔ پاکستان کو ایک مضبوط و توانا قوم بنانے اور سماجی ترقی کی صحیح معنوں میں علمبرداری کے لیے منشیات فروشوں کا قلع قمع لازم ہے۔ اینٹی نار کو ٹکس فورس قانون نافذ کرنے والے اداروں کی مدد سے منشیات کو جڑ سے ختم کرنے کے لیے کمربستہ ہے۔ محمد فاروق چوہدری نے مزید کہا کہ اسلامی تعلیمات کی رو سے بھی نشہ اور منشیات کے استعمال کو حرام قرار دیا گیا ہے۔نشہ انسانی جسم کو تباہ کرتے ہوئے مدافعتی نظام پر کاری ضرب لگاتا ہے۔نشہ وقتی طور پر سکون و قرار کا باعث بننے کے باوجود ایک ایسی لعنت بن چکا ہے جو آہستہ آہستہ ہماری روح و جسم کو کھوکھلا کرتے ہوئے نفسیاتی و جسمانی بگاڑ کا شاخسانہ بنتا ہے۔ محمد فاروق چوہدری نے اعداد و شمار کی روشنی میں منشیات کی خامیوں کا وسیع تر جائزہ لیتے ہوئے طلبہ کو اس سے بچاؤ کے طریق کار سے آگاہ کیا۔سیمینار کے اختتام پر طلبہ نے اپنے بصیرت افروز و معلوماتی سوالات کے ذریعے انسداد منشیات کے حوالہ سے آگاہی و رہبری حاصل کی۔ اسسٹنٹ ڈائریکٹراینٹی نارکوٹکس فورس محمد فاروق چوہدری کو جامعہ گجرات کی جانب سے یادگاری شیلڈ پیش کرتے ہوئے ان کی عزت افزائی کی گئی۔

ریجنل پولیس افسر گجرات خرم شہزاد حیدر نے جامعہ گجرات میں پنجاب پولیس خدمت مرکز کا افتتاح کر دیا۔یونیورسٹی آف گجرات میں پولیس خدمت مرکز کے قیام کا مقصدطلبہ و اساتذہ کو محکمہ پولیس کی جانب سے فراہم کی جانے والی مختلف خدمات ایک ہی جگہ پر مہیا کرتے ہوئے آسانیوں کا فروغ ہے۔افتتاحی تقریب کی میزبانی رجسٹرار محمد نعیم بٹ نے کی۔افتتاحی تقریب میں ڈسٹرکٹ پولیس افسر گجرات اختر فاروق،ممبر سنڈیکیٹ طارق محمود شیخ،ڈائریکٹر BICڈاکٹر عمر وڑائچ و دیگر نے شرکت کی۔مختلف شعبہ جات کے منتخب طلبہ و اساتذہ نے تقریب میں شرکت کرتے ہوئے جامعہ گجرات اور محکمہ پولیس کے مشترکہ تعاون سے قائم ہونے والے خدمت مرکز کو یونیورسٹی کے لیے خوش آئند قرار دیا۔خرم شہزاد حیدر نے کہا کہ طلبہ کو راہ علم و تحقیق کے سفر پر آسانیاں فراہم کرنا ایک اجتماعی فریضہ ہے۔جامعہ گجرات میں قائم ہونے والا پولیس خدمت مرکز طلبہ و اساتذہ کے قیمتی وقت کو بچاتے ہوئے پولیس خدمات کے حوالہ سے تمام ممکنہ سہولیات انہیں یونیورسٹی میں ہی فراہم کرنے کا ذریعہ بنے گا۔خرم شہزاد حیدر نے یونیورسٹی کے سینیئر عہدیداران اور طلبہ و اساتذہ کے ہمراہ پولیس خدمت مرکز کے مختلف ڈیسکوں کا دورہ کیا۔ محمد نعیم بٹ نے کہا کہ طلبہ پاکستان کا مستقبل اورسماجی سفیر ہیں۔علم و تحقیق کی راہوں کو روشن کرتے ہوئے طلبہ و اساتذہ پاکستان کے روشن و درخشاں مستقبل کے امین ہیں۔ہاد رہے کہ جامعہ گجرات میں پنجاب پولیس خدمت مرکز کا قیام بزنس انکوبیشن سنٹر کی عمارت میں لایا گیا ہے۔یونیورسٹی میں قائم ہونے والا خدمت مرکز طلبہ و اساتذۃ کو مختلف سہولیات کریکٹر سرٹیفکیٹ، جنرل پولیس ویریفکیشن، گمشدگی دستاویزات، وہیکل کلیئرنس سرٹیفکیٹ، جرم کی اطلاع، اندراج کرایہ داران، ایف آئی آر کاپی، قانونی رہنمائی برائے تشدد خواتین، اندراج گھریلو ملازمین، انٹرنیشنل ڈرائیونگ لائسنس، ڈرائیونگ لرنر پرمٹ، تجدید ڈراؤنگ لائسنس بہم فراہم کرے گا۔پولیس خدمت مرکز یونیورسٹی آف گجرات میں 4کاؤنٹرز قائم کئے گئے ہیں۔یاد رہے کہ جامعہ گجرات میں اس وقت تقریباً17000طلبہ زیر تحصیل ہیں اور ان میں 70فیصد خواتین طلبہ شامل ہیں اس لیے خدمت مرکز کے سٹاف میں لیڈیز پولیس بھی شامل ہے۔

Nutrition shapes mental and spiritual wellbeing, UOG seminar reveals
GUJRAT – A seminar at Hafiz Hayat Campus of the University of Gujrat on Thursday underscored that mental and spiritual wellbeing—the foundations of a healthy lifestyle—hinges on what we eat.
Titled “Metacognitive Nutrition: New Paradigms and Future Directions,” the seminar was organized by Dr. Sammar Fatima of the Health Care Center in collaboration with the Hayatian Society of Biochemistry & Biotechnology (HSBB). Distinguished speakers Dr. Sammar Fatima, Dr. Hammad Aslam, and Dr. Sameera discussed preventive healthcare, emotional resilience, and mindful lifestyle choices. Prof. Dr. Umer Rashid, Chairperson Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology, attended as Guest of Honor, while Dr. Hammad Ismail, Coordinator HSBB, joined the panel discussion on integrated wellbeing and community awareness.
A major highlight was the launch of the Integrated Nutrition and Wellness Program (INWP) under Dr. Sammar Fatima’s directorship, aimed at advancing evidence‑based nutrition education and wellness awareness.
The seminar was coordinated by Ms. Norita Irfan, with active participation from Human Nutrition & Dietetics students. The program included Quran recitation by Ehsanullah, a Naat by Rehman Muhammad, and compering by Mehtab Kashif. The announcement of Food Committee Ambassadors encouraged student involvement in healthy dietary practices.
The event concluded with a panel discussion and certificate distribution by Prof. Dr. Umer Rashid, recognizing the contributions of organizers and guest speakers.
