President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has conferred the prestigious Tamgha-i-Imtiaz upon Professor Dr Fateh Muhammad Marri in recognition of his outstanding contributions to higher education, agricultural economics, academic reforms, and educational leadership in Pakistan. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Marri currently serves as the Vice-Chancellor of University of Sindh and previously held the same position at Sindh Agriculture University. Widely regarded as one of Pakistan’s leading agricultural economists and academic administrators, he has played a vital role in strengthening the country’s higher education sector.
During his tenure at the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan as Member Operations & Planning and Acting Executive Director, Dr. Marri contributed significantly to university modernization, academic governance, and policy reforms. His leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic was especially appreciated for promoting online education and digital learning initiatives across Pakistan.
