The Hyderabad Institute for Technology & Management Sciences (HITMS) proudly organized a Certificate of Appreciation Ceremony at the HITMS Auditorium to honor students who received laptops under the Prime Minister Youth Laptop Scheme. This follow-up event recognized their academic dedication and celebrated their achievement after the main distribution ceremony held on 14 February 2026 at Nazeer Hussain University, Karachi.

The certificates were distributed by Prof. Dr. Saeeduddin Shaikh (Rector), other university officials Prof. Dr. Syed Iqleem Haider Taqvi (Registrar), Dr. Zahoor Hussain Shah (Dean), Mr. Mukhtiar Rajput (Director Finance), and Deputy Director Student affairs Mr. Rashid Ali Rao were also present.

During the ceremony, the Rector addressed the students, appreciating their efforts and encouraging them to use this opportunity to enhance their knowledge, strengthen their skills, and contribute positively to society and the nation.

The 3rd Meeting of the Board of Governors (BoG) of Hyderabad Institute for Technology and Management Sciences (HITMS) was held on 14th February 2026, at the Conference Room of Nazeer Hussain University, Karachi.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training. The Chair appreciated the progress made by HITMS since its establishment and emphasized the importance of maintaining high academic standards, transparency, and institutional development in line with national higher education policies.

Hyderabad Institute for Technology and Management Sciences (HITMS) proudly witnessed the Inaugural Event of the IT Club on 12th February 2026. The event was graciously honored by the presence of the Dean, Faculty of Computing and Emerging Technologies, Dr. Zahoor Hussain Shah.

Dr. Zahoor Hussain Shah officially inaugurated the IT Club logo and appreciated the vision behind its design. During his address, he highlighted the vital role of academic societies in bridging the gap between academia and industry. He also emphasized how extracurricular activities significantly contribute to the personal and professional growth of students. He further appreciated the dedicated efforts of the IT Club mentors, Mr. Azhar Ali Khaskheli and Ms. Rashida Sohail, for their guidance and support in establishing and mentoring the society.

Dr. Asad Raza, also shared his valuable thoughts on how academic societies play an important role in shaping university students’ leadership skills, confidence, and overall development.

The session was professionally hosted by Mr. Ahmed Asghar and Ms. Fasiha Afridi, who conducted the event with confidence and excellent coordination.

Hyderabad Institute for Technology and Management Sciences (HITMS) successfully hosted the first introductory event of the AWS Cloud Club, organized collaboratively by the IT Club HITMS and AWS Cloud Club HITMS, marking the official launch of a student-led cloud learning community on campus.

The event was honored by the esteemed presence of the Honorable Registrar, HITMS, Prof. Dr. Iqleem Haider Taqvi, along with respected faculty members of HITMS and the Deputy Director Students’ Affairs. Their participation added significant academic value and encouragement to the initiative.

The 3rd Meeting of the Board of Studies (BoS) was held on 2nd February 2026 in the meeting room beside the Rector’s Office, Hyderabad Institute For Technology & Management Sciences, Hyderabad. The meeting was conducted to review and approve key academic matters related to curriculum development, outcome-based education, and program structure under the chair of Dr.Zahoor Hussain Shah Head Of Department Computer Science and Related Studies & Dean FCET, HITMS, Along with Prof Dr Shahid Muneer from Szabist,Prof Dr Shazia Abbasi from University Of Sindh and Dr Erum Shaikh from Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Sanghar.

After the detailed deliberations, the following agenda items were discussed and approved:

1. Implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE)

The Board thoroughly reviewed the framework for the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) across academic programs. Emphasis was placed on aligning teaching, learning, and assessment strategies with clearly defined learning outcomes. The BoS approved the structured adoption of OBE to ensure measurable attainment of learning objectives and compliance with national and international academic standards.

2. Mapping of Graduate Attributes (GAs)

The Board approved the mapping of Graduate Attributes (GAs) with Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs). This mapping ensures that graduates acquire essential professional skills, ethical values, problem-solving abilities, and lifelong learning competencies. The approved GA mapping will serve as a foundation for curriculum delivery and assessment.

3. Approval of Bloom’s Taxonomy

The Board approved the adoption of Bloom’s Taxonomy for curriculum design and assessment. Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) will be categorized according to cognitive levels—ranging from knowledge and comprehension to analysis, evaluation, and creation—ensuring progressive and measurable learning.

4. Scheme of Studies for BS Programs

The Scheme of Studies for the following undergraduate programs was reviewed in detail and approved:
BS Computer Science (BSCS)
BS Software Engineering (BSSE)
BS FinTech

The approved schemes ensure alignment with OBE principles, industry requirements, emerging technologies, and academic regulations. Each scheme includes appropriate course allocation and credit hours distribution, and assessment mechanisms.
