As part of the NUST International Office’s initiative, the NUST International Scholarship Champions, dedicated mentors guide NUST students on the most prestigious fully funded scholarship opportunities around the world. Among these, a Scholarship Champion for Chinese Scholarships specifically guide students in exploring and applying for various scholarship programs in China, helping them transform their academic aspirations into reality.

NUST students feel deeply honored to have been nominated by their university for higher studies in China, an opportunity that opened the doors to the renowned Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU). NUST supported the students at every stage of the admission process, ensuring a smooth and well-guided transition. NUST International Office was thrilled to host the International Student Orientation 2025, part of our yearly welcome tradition, as we welcomed new students of various Nationalities from across the Globe including China, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Libya and Afghanistan.

With the support of our amazing NUST International Buddies 🤝, the international students had their first friends on campus to help with registration, settling in, and exploring life at NUST.

🌍 From NUST to Türkiye — a journey of growth and global connection

Meet Ahmed Ashraf, an MS Innovation & Entrepreneurship student from NBS (Batch ’23), who spent his Spring 2025 exchange semester at Yaşar University, Izmir, Türkiye.

Here’s what he had to say about his transformative experience:

"My exchange semester at Yaşar University, Izmir, Türkiye was a defining academic and personal experience. Immersing myself in a new cultural and academic environment sharpened my adaptability, broadened my global outlook and enriched my interpersonal skills.

This opportunity allowed me to engage with diverse and new perspectives to form meaningful connections and grow beyond the classroom through real-world learning. It strengthened my ability to thrive in unfamiliar settings which is a skill essential in today’s globalized world.

NUST Students Shine at SCO Youth XAU “Encounter Xinjiang” International Youth Exchange

Aimal Sabih (BE Electrical Engineering Student at MCE) and Asad Abbas (BS Economics Student at S3H) proudly represented NUST at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Youth XAU “Encounter Xinjiang” International Youth Exchange in China, where they joined over 100 students from 34 countries in a powerful celebration of cross-cultural understanding and global dialogue.

Reflecting on the experience, Aimal shared:

“It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. From the warm welcome to the thoughtfully inclusive environment, every moment was transformative. I feel privileged to have engaged with passionate and diverse youth from across the world. Each conversation broadened my perspective and contributed to my personal growth.”

From exploring Turpan City and local industries to visiting historical ruins and the vibrant International Grand Bazaar in Urumqi, both students returned with lasting memories, global insights, and a deeper appreciation for cultural diplomacy.
