IIUI, IWMB Conduct Mock Exercise to Enhance Campus Safety Against Potential Leopard Threat
The International Islamic University Islamabad, in collaboration with the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board, organized a mock exercise on campus to enhance preparedness in response to a potential leopard sighting.
The exercise was aimed at ensuring the safety of students, faculty, and staff by developing coordinated response strategies and raising awareness about appropriate conduct in the event of an encounter with wildlife. Officials emphasized preventive measures and practical guidelines to minimize risk and avoid confrontation with the animal.
During the activity, participants were briefed on safety protocols, including maintaining distance, avoiding panic, and promptly informing authorities in case of any sighting. Basic training was also provided to help the university community respond responsibly and effectively under such circumstances.
Security personnel of the university actively participated in the exercise, which included a controlled field drill to simulate tracking and locating the animal under expert supervision.
