Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET), through its U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W), participated in a high-level meeting with Mr. Timothy Kane, Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, to discuss the progress and impact of research projects supported by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR).
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Kamran Jan Ansari, Prof. Dr. Bakhshal Lashari, Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal, Dr. Arjumand Zehra Zaidi, and Dr. Tanveer Ahmed Gadhi highlighted the achievements of internationally funded research initiatives addressing critical challenges related to salinity management, climate resilience, sustainable agriculture, water governance, and rural livelihoods in Pakistan.
The discussions underscored the importance of strengthening international research partnerships and promoting collaborative solutions for sustainable development. ORIC MUET appreciates the continued support of ACIAR and international partners in advancing high-impact research and innovation for societal benefit.

PMTF Recruitment Drive Successfully Conducted at MUET Jamshoro

The Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), MUET Jamshoro, successfully organized a Recruitment Drive in collaboration with Pakistan Machine Tool Factory (PMTF) on 18 June 2026 at the USPCAS-W Auditorium, MUET Jamshoro.

The event witnessed active participation from students of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, and other related disciplines, with more than 50 students appearing in the written test.

Representing PMTF, Mr. Syed Saad and Ms. Easham engaged with students and highlighted career opportunities available within Pakistanโ€™s premier engineering and manufacturing organization. The recruitment drive provided an excellent platform for aspiring engineers to interact with industry professionals, understand industry expectations, and demonstrate their technical competencies.

On this occasion, Dr. Sheeraz Memon, Director ORIC, MUET Jamshoro, welcomed the PMTF delegation and appreciated the organization's continued commitment to strengthening industry-academia collaboration and creating career pathways for engineering graduates.

Students who successfully qualify in the written assessment will be invited to Karachi for the interview phase of the recruitment process.

The opening ceremony of the first-ever Summer Camp at Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET), Jamshoro was held successfully with the participation of university officials, faculty members, parents, and students at Science & Technology Park (STP) building. MUET Participates in SEIC Ecosystem Roundtable 2026
Prof. Dr. Sheeraz Ahmed Memon, Director ORIC MUET, and the Director BIC MUET participated in the SEIC Ecosystem Roundtable 2026 held in Karachi in collaboration with the Government of Sindh.
The event brought together representatives from universities, ORICs, incubation centers, investors, and industry to discuss innovation, entrepreneurship, startup development, and research commercialization. ORIC MUET Proudly congratulates the MUET Students on Winning Third Prize at Huawei ICT Skills Competition Global Finals 2025โ€“26
In a remarkable display of talent and technical excellence, students from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro, secured the prestigious Third Prize at the Huawei ICT Skills Competition Global Finals 2025โ€“26.
The Global Finals were held in Shenzhen, China, from June 2 to June 5, 2026. The competition attracted more than 120,000 students from over 2,000 universities worldwide. A total of 25 teams from different regions competed at the Global Finals, showcasing their expertise in various ICT disciplines.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Navera Iqbal and Mr. Inamullah Brohi from the Department of Telecommunication Engineering, MUET Jamshoro, along with their teammate, Mr. Muhammad Noman Khan from Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam, for this outstanding achievement.
Under the guidance of their dedicated instructor, Engr. Saqib Hussain, the team demonstrated exceptional technical skills and professionalism, bringing great pride not only to their institutions but also to Pakistan. MUETโ€“Sapienza University of Rome, Italy Dialogue Focuses on EU-Funded Capacity Building for Low-Carbon and Resilient Infrastructure

The Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) delegation, led by Prof. Dr. Aneel Kumar, Pro Vice Chancellor, and Prof. Emeritus Bhawani Shankar Chowdhry, Advisor for International Collaboration Development, visited Sapienza University of Rome upon the invitation of Prof. Paolo Bottoni to explore strategic collaboration and European Union-funded opportunities in higher education.
The high-level discussions centered on academia's transformative role in supporting the European Green Deal, with a focus on developing the knowledge, competencies, skills, and values needed to drive sustainable behavioral change across societies.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Aneel Kumar delivered a detailed presentation on the recently established SINCERE-MUET Group, highlighting its mission to foster innovation, sustainability-focused research, and global academic partnerships. In a significant development, Prof. Paolo Bottoni was invited to serve as a Keynote Speaker at the upcoming SINCERE-MUET International Conference and to join the International Advisory Board of SINCERE-MUET. He graciously accepted both invitations, reflecting a strong commitment to future collaboration.
Prof. Bottoni also presented an overview of several ongoing EU-funded projects he leads, sharing valuable insights into successful international collaborations, ICM mobilities, and funding mechanisms to address global sustainability challenges. Both sides agreed that future collaborations will prioritize projects aligned with EU strategic objectives, including:
โ€ข Advancing green and inclusive economic modernization while promoting innovation, competitiveness, and climate neutrality
โ€ข Promoting Artificial Intelligence applications in agriculture, particularly for plant growth monitoring and smart farming solutions.
โ€ข Enhancing climate awareness, resilience, and sustainability across all sectors
โ€ข Accelerating the transition toward a green and circular economy through academiaโ€“industry collaboration and private sector engagement.
This engagement marks a significant step toward strengthening international academic partnerships and positioning MUET as a proactive contributor to global sustainability and innovation agendas. On this occasion, MUET Momento (My Mehran) was also presented to Professor Paolo Bottini.
