Government Graduate College Jaranwala The college was established on 1960. The total area of the college is 47 acres. The hostel building Computer science department was established in 2000 and I.C.S.

The college was established on 1960 as Government Higher Secondary School, Jaranwala in the building of Municipal Primary School, Jaranwala. In 1964, the first phase of the present college building was completed and college was shifted in its own building in December, 1964. Later on, the college was upgraded to degree science college in 1967 and two class rooms three laboratories and one lecture t

heater was constructed on the first floor on the existing building. The hostel building was constructed in 1974 which accommodates 52 students. This hostel building comprises 26 room including dormitories / cubicles. classes started in the college to provide computer education at inter level to the students of the college. M.A. Block was constructed in 2005. The building of this M.A. Block was meant for four post graduate disciplines. The classes of M.A. English and M.A. Islamiat were started in 1998. In 2010, with the approval of Punjab government I.Com. programme was launched to impart education in the commerce field. The academic and co-curricular activities are being carried out under the guidance and supervision of the worthy members of the teaching staff during the whole academic session. All the national days are observed with great spirit and enthusiasm. The college participates in Hockey, Football, Lawn Tennis, Cricket, Kabaddi, Volly ball, Debates and Seerat conferences etc.

The Department of Geography, Government Graduate College Jaranwala , organized a comprehensive academic lecture on the role of greenhouse gases in climate change. The session was delivered by Mr. Ammar Munir, Assistant Professor of Geography, who provided an in-depth analysis of how greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and fluorinated gases, contribute to global warming and environmental degradation. He explained that the increasing concentration of these gases in the atmosphere enhances the greenhouse effect, leading to rising global temperatures, changing precipitation patterns, melting glaciers, and an increased frequency of extreme weather events. Mr. Munir also highlighted the significant impact of human activities, particularly the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial emissions, on climate change. The lecture emphasized the importance of sustainable environmental practices, renewable energy sources, and collective efforts to mitigate climate change and ensure a sustainable future for coming generations.

โœ๏ธ As part of the All Pakistan Economics Competition Series (APEC'26), an online workshop on Research Writing, Plagiarism and AI Detection was successfully conducted for students and aspiring researchers. The Online Zoom session was arranged by ๐๐š๐ค๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง ๐„๐œ๐จ๐ง๐จ๐ฆ๐ข๐œ๐ฌ ๐…๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ž๐ซ (our Outreach Partner in APEC'26).
โœ๏ธ The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Muhammad Faheem, Assistant Professor, School of Economics/Deputy Director, Directorate of Advanced Studies & Research, Bahauddin Zakaria University (BZU), Multan, who shared valuable insights on the Research Writing and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in academic research. The session focused on the ethical and effective use of AI tools, highlighting where AI can assist researchers and where its use should be avoided to maintain academic integrity. He give useful tips to young students about Research Proposal Writing.
โœ๏ธ Participants also learned about plagiarism, AI-generated content detection, and the importance of originality in research. The workshop provided practical guidance on maintaining research ethics while benefiting from modern technological tools, making it a highly informative and relevant learning experience for students and young researchers.

๐ŸŒ ๐Ÿ“ฃ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ ๐Ÿ“: Economics Quiz Competition (In-Campus)
โœ๏ธ As part of the All Pakistan Economics Competition Series (APEC'26), an Economics Quiz Competition was successfully conducted at Govt. Graduate College Jaranwala. The event provided students of BS Economics with an opportunity to test their knowledge of economics in a structured and competitive environment.
โœ๏ธ The first round consisted of short-answer questions in a physical test format, while the second and third rounds were conducted through Google Forms in an MCQ-based format under strict time constraints. All rounds took place in the college's seminar hall under the supervision of Madam Maryam Maqbool and Madam Isha Hameed, ensuring transparency and fairness throughout the competition.
โœ๏ธ The results were announced by Sir Riaz-ul-Hassan Rizvi (HOD Economics). Beyond assessing students' economic knowledge, the competition aimed to familiarize participants with the nature and standards of economics-related competitive examinations (like PPSC, FPSC) and help them build confidence for future academic and professional challenges.

โœ๏ธ The All Pakistan Business Idea Competition (Online) was successfully conducted as part of APEC'26, bringing together students from universities and colleges across Pakistan. The Online Zoom session was arranged by ๐๐š๐ค๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง ๐„๐œ๐จ๐ง๐จ๐ฆ๐ข๐œ๐ฌ ๐…๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ž๐ซ (our Outreach Partner in APEC'26).
โœ๏ธ The competition brought together undergraduate teams from across Pakistan, who presented innovative ideas and research-based solutions addressing a variety of contemporary economic challenges. The presentations were assessed according to established evaluation criteria, with judges offering detailed and constructive feedback to all participants.

๐ŸŒ ๐Ÿ“ฃ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ ๐Ÿ & ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ ๐Ÿ‘: All Pakistan Economics Quiz Competition
โœ๏ธ The All Pakistan Economics Quiz Competition (Online) was successfully conducted as part of APEC'26, bringing together students from universities and colleges across Pakistan. The competition provided participants with an opportunity to showcase their knowledge and understanding of economics in a competitive academic environment.
โœ๏ธ The first two rounds were conducted through Google Forms in an MCQ-based format under strict time constraints (Day 2), while the third and fourth rounds were held live on Zoom (Day 3), also under strict time constraints. Participants demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm throughout the competition.
โœ๏ธ Beyond testing economic knowledge, the competition aimed to familiarize students with the nature and standards of economics-related competitive , helping them strengthen their subject knowledge and build confidence for future academic and professional challenges.
โœ๏ธThe panel of judges commended the students for their preparation about different economics topics, economic theories, economists, nobel prize winners, and statistics from Pakistan Economic Survey. Participants were encouraged to continue pursuing excellence. The event concluded with the formal announcement of winners, followed by congratulations from the judging panel.
