إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
“Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:156)
اللهم اغفر له وارحمه، وعافه واعف عنه، وأكرم نزله، ووسع مدخله، واغسله بالماء والثلج والبرد، ونقه من الخطايا كما ينقى الثوب الأبيض من الدنس.
“O Allah, forgive her, have mercy on her, pardon her, and make her grave spacious. Wash her with water, snow, and ice, and cleanse her of her sins as a white garment is cleansed of dirt.”
May her soul elevated to the highest ranks of Jannat-ul-Firdous.

With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, the entire team at the Baqai Institute of Health Management Sciences (BIHMS) mourns the passing of our beloved co-founder and Matriarch of the Baqai legacy, Prof. Dr. Zahida Baqai.
Today, we lose more than a leader; we lose a pioneer whose life was a testament to service, compassion, and the pursuit of excellence in medical sciences.

The Life of Dr. Zahida Baqai
Dr. Zahida Baqai’s journey was one of courage and vision. Alongside her late husband, Prof. Dr. Fareeduddin Baqai, she dedicated her life to the mission of "Community Oriented Medical Education."
A Pioneer in Reproductive Health: She was the driving force behind the establishment of the first-ever University-hospital-based IVF center in Sindh, bringing hope to thousands of families.
Building Institutions:
From the humble beginnings of Baqai Hospital Nazimabad in the 1960s to the establishment of the Baqai Medical University, her contribution to the private health sector in Pakistan is unparalleled.
A Champion for the Underprivileged:
Her heart always beat for the rural and middle-income communities. She played a pivotal role in establishing charitable facilities like Fatima Hospital, ensuring that quality healthcare was a right, not a privilege.
