SMIU Commemorates One Year of Markaa-e-Haq with a National Spirit

Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) marked the one-year of Markaa-e-Haq by organizing an academic seminar “Information Warfare and Disinformation, Civilian Protection, and International Humanitarian Law”, bringing together academia, students, and distinguished speakers to honor the bravery of Pakistan’s Armed Forces and reflect on the evolving dimensions of modern conflict, including cyber warfare and disinformation.
Addressing the seminar held on Tuesday at the auditorium of SMIU, Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai lauded the patriotism, bravery, courage, boldness, war skills, capability, and war strategy of the Pakistan Armed Forces and paid tribute to the soldiers for thwarting Indian aggression. He said that the defeat of India by the Pakistan’s Armed Forces in the war imposed on Pakistan in the month of May last year raised the prestige of Pakistan in the world.
The vice chancellor said that it was India's aggression, to which Pakistan responded befittingly, making it clear to the world that Pakistan does not want war under any circumstances, but if a war is imposed on it, it reserves the right to defend itself and has the power to give a befitting reply to the enemy. Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai commended the leadership of the Pakistan Armed Forces under Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Ahmed, highlighting enhanced preparedness and strategic capability across all services.
Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai emphasized that Pakistan remains a peace-loving nation committed to justice and lawful resolution of disputes. Highlighting the longstanding Kashmir issue, he noted the importance of the United Nations resolutions and stressed that peaceful resolution could have averted decades of conflict and economic strain. He encouraged the youth to uphold unity, resilience, and a commitment to national progress and development of the country.
Dr. Erum Muzafar, Incharge of the Pakistan Study Centre at University of Karachi, highlighted the shifting geopolitical landscape of South Asia. She critically examined India’s hegemonic ambitions and their implications for regional stability, particularly in the context of occupied Kashmir. She underscored the role of media warfare and disinformation campaigns, emphasizing the need for awareness and resilience in the digital age.
In his address, Dr. Jamshed Adil Halepoto, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Business Administration, and Commerce, SMIU asserted that Markaa-e-Haq have strengthened national unity and enhanced Pakistan’s global image. “The Indian aggression not weakened us; but it has brought us closer and reaffirmed our collective resolve,” he remarked, while paying tribute to the Armed Forces of Pakistan for their valor and professionalism.
The ceremony concluded with the vice-chancellor presenting souvenirs to the distinguished guests, followed by a reaffirmation of Pakistan’s dedication to peace, international law, and the enduring sacrifices of its Armed Forces.
Earlier, Mr. Quratulain Memon, Senior Manager of Student Affairs, presented a welcome address.
SMIU is celebrating a week of the Markaa-e-Haq to highlight the courageous role of Pakistan's Armed Forces for defending and safeguarding the national interests of Pakistan.
