The Thesis Defense of MS Environmental Sciences scholars was held on September 8, 2026, at the Senate Hall of the university under the auspices of the Advanced Studies & Research Board (ASRB).
During the session, MS students; Syed Faizan Rizvi and Saqib Hussain presented their research work and confidently discussed their findings, demonstrating their academic understanding, research skills, and dedication to their respective areas of study.
The research work was evaluated by Dr. Akhtar Sharif, Dr. Saeeda Nadir, and Dr. Saima Faraz, who provided valuable feedback and observations. Dr. Hina Shehnaz, Chairperson of the Department also shared her thoughtful comments and appreciated the efforts of the scholars.
Both students successfully completed their research under the supervision of Mr. Khalid Hassan, whose guidance and support contributed to their research journey.

🇵🇰 Defence Day Table Tennis Friendly Exhibition Match 2026 🏓

In commemoration of Defence Day, the SMIU Sports Society, in collaboration with the Sports Section, Directorate of Student Affairs & Counselling, organized a Table Tennis Friendly Exhibition Match on Monday, 7th September 2026 at the YDC Indoor Sports Hall, SMIU.

The event honoured the courage, resolve, and sacrifices of our Armed Forces, while celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship, discipline, and healthy competition among our students. Participants took part with great enthusiasm, making the event a truly spirited and memorable one.

Certificates of participation were distributed among the players by Ms. Zonaira Jalali, Manager, Student Affairs, in the presence of Mr. Muhammad Kashif, Incharge Sports and Patron of the SMIU Sports Society.

This is the report of the training session held for faculty members of the I.T Faculty of SMIU. Prof. Dr. Abdul Hafeez Khan, Dean, Faculty of IT conducted the session. The Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), SMIU, in collaboration with the Faculty of Information Technology had organised it on the subject of "Outcome-Based Education" (OBE) at the Senate Hall of SMIU.

SMIU’s Faculty of Information Technology organised an orientation session for newly inducted cooperative faculty members and lab instructors for the Departments of Artificial Intelligence & Mathematical Sciences, Computer Science, and Software Engineering for the Fall 2026 session. The session was held at the Senate Hall of the university and was conducted by chairperson of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Mathematical Sciences Dr. Mansoor Ahmed Khuhro.
While welcoming them Dr. Khuhro talked on SMIU’s rules and regulations, academic requirements, and standards of discipline and professionalism expected in the classroom and laboratory.

Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, Vice Chancellor of Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) has said that the War of 1965 reminds us of the bravery, courage, determination, patriotism and sacrifice of the soldiers of our Armed Forces, which is why we salute the martyrs and veterans of that war.

On the occasion of Pakistan’s Defence and Martyrs Day, the Vice Chancellor of the Alma Mater of founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, said that India has been denying the existence of Pakistan since day one, which is why it keeps committing aggression every time, but keeps getting defeated due to the harshest response received from the Pakistan’s Armed Forces and the entire nation.

Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai further said that India carried out the same aggressive action in May last year and the response received by the Pakistan’s Armed Forces made it extremely humiliated and disgraced in the world.

Dr. Sahrai, while paying great tribute to the Armed Forces, asked the youth of the country to keep themselves mentally prepared, so that whenever they are called upon by the nation, there is any aggression, and there is any attempt to provoke, the youth of the country, and especially the youth of Sindh Madressatul Islam University, should always stand with Pakistan Armed Forces and the nation for the development, prosperity, and defence of their country.

This is the report of the orientation session organised by the Department of Admissions and Examinations for students admitted to the Fall 2026 session, at auditorium of the university.
Vice Chancellor of SMIU Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, Dean Dr. Jamshed Adil Halepoto, chairpersons of different academic departments, faculty members and DSA manager including Dr. Ambreen Fazal, Dr. Subhash Babu, Dr. Hina Shehnaz, Dr. Mansoor Ahmed Khuhro, Dr. Sarmad Ahmed Shaikh, Assistant Professor Wafa Mansoor Buriro, and Ms. Zonaira Jalali, Manager of the DSA addressed the different sessions of the orientation. They congratulated the newly admitted students on their admission to the university and said that their professional journey is now beginning, therefore, they must pay heed on their study and follow discipline set by SMIU.

Under the directives of Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, Vice Chancellor of Sindh Madressatul Islam University, national flags, banners and panaflexes were displayed on the university’s exterior walls and buildings to mark Pakistan's Defence and Martyrs’ Day. These displays condemned the Indian aggression of the 1965 war and paid great tribute to the bravery, courage, and valour of Pakistan’s Armed Forces.
