Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET), through its Literary Art and Culture Forum in collaboration with the Directorate of Students Affairs, organized a vibrant Youth Mushaira, celebrating the beauty of Urdu poetry and youthful expression.
The event was graced by Chancellor SSUET, Akbar Ali Khan, who served as the Patron-in-Chief. He appreciated the poetic performances and highlighted the importance of literary activities in fostering a healthy, open-minded, and culturally enriched academic environment. “Literary activities must continue,” he remarked, emphasizing their role in broadening perspectives and strengthening the cultural fabric of society. The Youth Mushaira provided a meaningful platform for young voices to express their creativity and share inspirational poetry.
Convenor of the Literary Art and Culture Forum, Tariq Sabzwari, engaged with the young poets and praised their creativity and participation in literary pursuits. He noted that students’ unique vocabulary, thought processes, and presentation styles have the potential to create a lasting impact. He also captivated the audience with his own poetry, adding depth to the event.
General Secretary of the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association (AMUOBA), Dr. Jaffar Nazir Usmani, encouraged students to maintain a strong balance between co-curricular engagement and academic focus, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing studies and professional development.
The event was further enriched by the presence of renowned poet Wajih Sani as Chief Guest. The audience was captivated by the powerful poetry of celebrated poets Naeem Sameer, Ibrahim Khalil, Dr. Waleej Haider, and Rakhshinda Khan, whose verses beautifully reflected the richness of Urdu literature.
Director of Students’ Affairs, Engr. Hassan Zaki, also presented selected works of notable poets. Additionally, student poets including Ayesha Jahanzaib, Ahmed Rizwan, Ammar Jaffery, Faizan Shaikh, Asim Malik, Sara Mansoor, Nargis Fatima, and others showcased their poetic talent, making the event a true celebration of creativity and expression.
