Successfully Organized: Hands-on Training Workshop – Python for Biologists

The Department of Biological Sciences, Superior University, successfully conducted an interactive and research-oriented workshop on Python for Biologists.

The session provided students with hands-on exposure to coding algorithms, biological sequence analysis, and Python applications in biological sciences.

Ms. Amina Abid, Lecturer, Department of Biological Sciences, served as the trainer for this hands-on workshop. Her major areas of expertise include Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, and Nanotechnology. With a strong research-oriented approach and practical expertise, she guided participants in exploring Python applications in biological sciences.

More than 30 participants actively participated in the workshop and gained valuable practical learning experience in Python programming. We would like to thank Dr. Nazia Kanwal, Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences for organizing this workshop.

Special thanks to Prof. Dr. Uqba Mehmood, Head of the Department of Biological Sciences, for providing this excellent platform for learning and innovation.

Recently, students of the Department of Biological Sciences, under the guidance of Dr. Quratul Ain Amjab, Assistant Professor, explored real-world lab techniques at Hi-Tech Biotech Lab, mastering DNA isolation, PCR, and gel electrophoresis.

A special thanks to Prof. Dr. Uqba Mehmood, HOD, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naveed Babur, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences/ Faculty of Sciences, for their invaluable support.

Dr. Muhammad Usman Elahi from Superior University recently visited The University of Lahore (UOL) to present at the seminar “Animal Production: Prospects & Challenges”. His insightful talk on “Insects: The Future of Animal Feed” highlighted sustainable solutions for modern animal nutrition, effectively bridging research with industry innovation.
