As an inspiring initiative of Principal Prof. Dr. Shahida Sohail to motivate and acknowledge the valuable services of the support staff, three Best Employees for the Month of April were selected at Govt. Islamia Graduate College, Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore.

Celebration of 75 Years of Pakistan-China Relations

In compliance with the directions issued by the Directorate of Education (Colleges), Lahore Division, Govt. Islamia Graduate College, Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore organized various activities to commemorate 75 Years of Pakistan-China Diplomatic Relations.

Activities Conducted:

The college building was illuminated with red and green lights during evening hours to reflect the friendship and solidarity between Pakistan and China.

Officially provided logos, emblems, and flags were displayed at prominent locations within the college premises.

Flexes, banners, standees, and posters were placed according to the approved design and instructions issued by the department.

An Awareness Walk was organized to promote awareness among students regarding the historic and strong diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

Students and faculty members actively participated in the walk and expressed their enthusiasm for the long-standing friendship, mutual cooperation, and cultural harmony shared by the two countries.

The event highlighted the importance of Pak-China relations in regional development, peace, and international cooperation, while encouraging students to appreciate the enduring bond between the two nations.

گورنمنٹ اسلامیہ گریجویٹ کالج علامہ اقبال ٹاؤن، لاہور کی علمی و ادبی روایت "سنو قصہ کہانی" کا دوسرا ہفتہ وار سیشن آج بروز بدھ صبح ساڑھے دس بجے کالج لائبریری میں منعقد ہوا۔

اس نشست میں شعبۂ اردو سے پروفیسر مہوش امین نے اردو کے ممتاز افسانہ نگار "راجیندر سنگھ بیدی"
کا مختصر تعارف پیش کیا اور ان کے معروف افسانے " بھولا" کی قرأت پیش کی۔

انہوں نے افسانے کے جذباتی اور سماجی پہلوؤں کو نہایت پُراثر اور دل نشیں انداز میں پیش کیا، جس سے سامعین پوری طرح کہانی کے داخلی کرب اور انسانی احساسات سے جڑتے چلے گئے۔ لائبریری کا ماحول دیر تک ادبی تاثیر میں ڈوبا رہا۔

طلبہ و طالبات نے نہایت دلچسپی اور انہماک سے سیشن میں شرکت کی، جو اس امر کی غمازی کرتا ہے کہ مطالعے اور کہانی سننے کی روایت آج بھی نوجوان ذہنوں کے لیے کشش رکھتی ہے، بشرطیکہ اسے تخلیقی اور جاندار انداز میں پیش کیا جائے۔

اساتذہ میں پروفیسر ملیحہ (لائبریرین)، پروفیسر عالیہ، پروفیسر سائرہ رانی، پروفیسر علی فدا، پروفیسر عمران حیدر، پروفیسر عامر رضااور پروفیسر فائزہ اقبال بھی شریک رہیں اور اس ادبی سرگرمی کو کامیاب بنانے میں فعال کردار ادا کیا۔

بلاشبہ "سنو قصہ کہانی" کا یہ سلسلہ کالج میں مطالعے اور ادبی ذوق کے فروغ کی ایک خوب صورت روایت بنتا جا رہا ہے۔

Psychological Awareness & Counselling Session at GIGC

A Psychological Awareness & Counselling Session was conducted today at Govt. Islamia Graduate College, Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore to promote mental health awareness and students’ well-being.

The session was hosted by Mr. Muhammad Latif Rehmani, Lecturer Psychology, while Ms. Asifa, Clinical Psychologist from Ganga Ram Hospital, delivered an informative lecture on psychological awareness, emotional well-being, and the importance of counseling services.
She also presented a documentary highlighting various issues faced by today’s youth, which helped students better understand emotional and social challenges.

Students actively participated in the session and benefited from professional guidance regarding mental health and personal development.

At the end of the session, Principal Prof. Dr. Shahida Sohail addressed the participants and appreciated the efforts of the guest speaker and the team from the Population Welfare Department for organizing this valuable awareness activity.

Industry–Academia Linkage Session and Job Interviews at GIGC

An Industry–Academia Linkage Session was successfully conducted today at Govt. Islamia Graduate College, Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore by the team of Cakes & Bakes.
The session aimed to bridge the gap between academia and industry by providing students with valuable insights into professional skills, workplace expectations, and career opportunities.

The representatives of Cakes & Bakes delivered an informative lecture highlighting career growth, professional development, and employment opportunities within the organization.

Following the session, a test and job interview process was conducted to evaluate students for potential job opportunities and providing them job places.

Principal Prof Dr. Shahida Sohail appreciated the Team and efforts of Vice Principal Miss Ghazala Shaheen, Mr Irfan Ali and Mr. Muhammad Latif for this activity.

A handing over ceremony of a computer system and printer was held at Govt. Islamia Graduate College, Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore for the Examination Department.

Principal, Prof. Dr. Shahida Sohail handed over a computer system, a printer cm photo copy machine to chairman examination department, Mr. Irfan Ali, and a printer to BS programs coordinaters, Mr. Umair Anwer and Mr. Aleem Shahzada. The provision of these facilities will help improve the efficiency and smooth functioning of admissions and examination-related work and strengthen administrative support within the college.

This initiative reflects the college administration’s commitment to modernization and better institutional management.
