LUMS National Outreach Programme

LUMS National Outreach Programme LUMS NOP is a community development initiative aiming to transform lives through quality higher education. Those who qualify will become LUMS NOP scholars!

The LUMS National Outreach Programme (NOP), launched in 2001, provides the talented yet financially challenged students of Pakistan a chance to study at LUMS on full financial aid thereby becoming a truly national university. What is the Process?

• The NOP team visits schools/ colleges in various cities, towns and villages in all provinces to give presentations about the LUMS National Outreach Pr

ogramme.
• Students send their applications for the NOP Summer Coaching Session to LUMS and the shortlisted students are invited; to LUMS in the summer to experience university life.
• Students hopeful of being NOP scholars apply for admission to LUMS along with all other regular students.
• Students take the Admissions Test
• Students who get in, are given a fully funded scholarship to study in the undergraduate programme based on their financial need assessment. A student from anywhere in Pakistan can apply if he or she meets the criteria of marks and financial need. There are no separate seats for students based on region, ethnicity and/or extra-curricular activities. Eligibility Criteria

• At least 80% marks in Matric or equivalent in O-Levels
• Financial need

The students short listed on the above criteria are invited to the coaching session, whereby they are examined through different exercises and tests. Students are evaluated on their performance at the coaching sessions and are registered for the entrance test; fully funded by LUMS. Finally, the students who apply to LUMS and qualify on merit are offered admission on full scholarship. All students whether they apply directly or through the scholarship programme are evaluated on the same admission criteria. As regards to the assessment of financial need, a review committee ensures transparency in the process of awarding scholarships to all those who qualify for admission at LUMS. STEP 1 – Application Process

Apply to NOP while you are in the first year of Intermediate or A-Levels. This will be two years before the start date of the undergraduate programme at LUMS, hence students of Intermediate or A-Levels parts 1 and 2 are eligible. STEP 2 – Summer Coaching Session

The shortlisted candidates will be called in for a ten to fourteen day Coaching Session at LUMS. This session is arranged during the summer holidays and all expenses will be covered by LUMS. STEP 3 – The SAT

LUMS will pay the SAT registration fee of candidates who successfully complete the Coaching Session. STEP 4 - LUMS Admission Form

The next step for successful Coaching Session candidates is to file an online application for admission to LUMS through the following link: http://admissions.lums.edu.pk.

Six cities. 15 institutions. 1,600+ students. One message: opportunity is yours.

From Sukkur to Khairpur, Ghotki to Daharki the NOP team travelled across Northern Sindh to meet talented students where they are, and show them where they could go.

Across underserved communities, we introduced students to LUMS its world-class research environment, multidisciplinary programmes in business, law, humanities, science & engineering and most importantly, the fully funded scholarships that make it all possible.

We brought research to life. Stories from SBASSE sparked curiosity about biotechnology, data science, environmental sciences, energy systems, and public health showing students that groundbreaking work isn't reserved for the privileged few.

Students in Ghotki and Daharki asked sharp, ambitious questions. Science-track students in Sukkur and Khairpur leaned in with enthusiasm. In every city, the hunger for knowledge was undeniable.

The message across Northern Sindh was clear: Where you come from does not limit where you can go.

NOP is committed to ensuring that no high-achieving student in Pakistan regardless of geography or income is left without a pathway to excellence.

Five districts. Over dozen institutions. Hundreds of futures within reach.

The NOP team extended its reach across central–northeast Punjab, travelling through Faisalabad, Chiniot, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, and Nankana Sahib to bring higher education guidance directly to students who need it most.

Sessions were held at Government Colleges across the region, with a focused approach targeting students securing above 80% ensuring high-potential scholars from public-sector institutions receive the guidance and support they deserve. At Chenab College alone, over 850 intermediate students engaged in in-depth conversations about university admissions, eligibility, and the path forward.

In Nankana Sahib, the team visited Government Gurunanak High School one of the city's most historic institutions where both faculty and students came together to build awareness and strengthen the bridge between ambition and opportunity.

Across every district, the message was the same: your postcode is not your ceiling. Geography and income do not determine potential and no capable student should navigate the path to higher education alone.

NOP remains committed to expanding its presence in historically underrepresented districts of Punjab, ensuring that every talented student regardless of background knows that fully funded pathways to excellence are within reach.

From Wah Cantt to Islamabad, the NOP team connected with 3,060 students across 17 institutions in just five days.
Colleges in Wah Cantt, Rawalpindi, Attock, Taxila, and Islamabad welcomed detailed sessions on the LUMS NOP Scholarship, application procedures, financial aid processes, and the Summer Coaching pathway. Students from Army Public Colleges, HITEC, Cadet College, F.G. Colleges, and leading private institutions engaged actively in discussions about merit-based opportunities.
Information gaps were addressed, misconceptions around financial barriers were challenged, and real NOP success stories were shared to build confidence. Science students were also introduced to innovative research initiatives at LUMS, including developments within SBASSE.
By combining institutional briefings, direct student engagement, and collaboration with administrative staff and counselors, this outreach ensured that students from diverse backgrounds are informed, prepared, and motivated to pursue higher education without financial limitation.
NOP continues to expand access - one city at a time.

The NOP Centre’s Hasilpur Base Visit 2026 brought focused engagement to Chishtian, Hasilpur, Vehari, and Bahawalnagar. From Daanish Schools to government colleges and private institutions, students were guided through eligibility criteria, application procedures, financial aid pathways, and the structure of the Summer Coaching Session.
Sessions addressed common concerns around documentation, financial verification, and admission timelines, ensuring students felt prepared and informed. Pre-medical students also learned about groundbreaking research at SBASSE, including innovations such as the LUMS-1 protein project.
The visit aimed to ensure that students from South Punjab understand that opportunity is not limited by geography or income. With the right information and preparation, pathways to quality higher education become achievable.
Across four cities and eleven institutions, NOP has reached over 1,040 students, continuing its commitment to expanding awareness and building confidence among talented students across Pakistan.
