**UET Alumnus Contribution**

UET Lahore marked another significant step towards strengthening its teaching and learning infrastructure with the inauguration of a newly renovated Model Classroom at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, developed through the generous support of distinguished alumnus Engr. Sohail Bashir Rana, Vice Chairman, Millat Tractors Limited and Director, Hyundai Nishat Group.

Vice Chancellor UET Lahore Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir (TI) inaugurated the facility and appreciated the valuable role of the alumni community in the continued development of the University. He emphasized that UET is blessed with talented students and highly capable faculty, and the University is now making concerted efforts to provide them with modern, comfortable and conducive infrastructure through the combined support of the Government, University resources and alumni community.

The ceremony was attended by prominent alumni including Engr. Muhammad Abad Khan, Advisor to CEO, Fatima Fertilizer Group; Engr. Sohail Bashir Rana; and Engr. Abid Wazir Khan, CEO KIPS, along with the Registrar, Dean, Chairman, faculty members and other university officials.

Director Alumni Office, Engr. Ahmad Naveed briefed the gathering on the alumni-supported development initiatives and acknowledged the personal efforts of Engr. Sohail Bashir Rana in transforming the classroom into a modern teaching and learning facility.

The occasion brought further encouraging commitments for the Department. Engr. Muhammad Abad Khan pledged the renovation of one classroom in his personal capacity, while Engr. Sohail Bashir Rana pledged another classroom, taking the initiative from one completed Model Classroom to two more classrooms committed for renovation. It was also shared that another alumnus has committed to developing a state-of-the-art Seminar Hall in the Mechanical Engineering Department, with work expected to commence soon.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a commemorative shield and souvenir to Engr. Sohail Bashir Rana in recognition of his generous contribution.

UET Lahore deeply appreciates its alumni for standing alongside their alma mater and contributing towards better classrooms, laboratories, hostels and academic facilities — creating a stronger and more enabling environment for future generations of UETians.

Together, we build a better UET.
