School of Architecture and Planning -UMT ,proudly conducted an insightful guest lecture on “Optimized Structural Performance Using Modern Materials and Slab Techniques”

The session was delivered by Dr. Madiha Ahmad, Associate Professor at The University of Lahore, who shared valuable insights on innovative structural systems, contemporary construction materials, and advanced slab techniques used in modern architecture and building design.

Students of B.Arch gained knowledge about different types of modern materials and slab techniques that can be effectively applied in inspirational and innovative building designs. The session encouraged students to explore creative structural solutions while considering performance, efficiency, and sustainability in architecture.

The School of Architecture and Planning proudly reflects on its presence at the International Conference “Beyond Affordable Housing — Policy & Design for Equitable Living,” held today at Alhamra Hall
Dr. Fariha Tariq represented the School of Architecture and Planning as a Panelist , contributing to the theme “Reframing Governance Policy, Regulation & Institutional Reform.” Her discussion emphasized the need to advance inclusive housing frameworks, strengthen regulatory systems, and align policy with the lived realities of communities.
The event, organized by the Government of Punjab in collaboration with PHATA, brought together leading global institutions including UN-Habitat, the World Bank, and the World Urban Forum—creating a dynamic platform focused on resilience, equity, and systemic reform in housing delivery.
Our students, along with faculty members, actively participated in this enriching experience—engaging with critical ideas and gaining valuable exposure to contemporary housing discourse.
