PLAYER OF THE MATCH | Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2026

We are delighted to share that Khadija Latif, a student of the Department of Health and Physical Education, LCWU has been declared the “Player of the Match” for her outstanding performance.

She earns the Player of the Match honour as Pakistan secure a 2–1 victory over Chinese Taipei in the Challenger Pool.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Khadija Latif on this well-deserved recognition.

لاہور کالج برائے خواتین یونیورسٹی میں یوم ختم نبوت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے موقع پر "محمد رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی ختم نبوت کے فکری و معاشرتی اثرات‘‘ کے زیر عنوان پروفیسر ڈاکٹر زاہدہ شبنم ،انچارج شعبہ علوم اسلامیہ کی صدارت میں سیمینار منعقد ہوا، جس میں مہمان خصوصی محترمہ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر عظمیٰ قریشی، وائس چانسلر، لاہور کالج برائے خواتین یونیورسٹی اور مہمان اعزاز محترمہ ڈاکٹر فلیحہ زہرا کاظمی، انچارج فیکلٹی آف اسلامک اینڈ اورینٹل لرننگ تھے۔اس پر وقار سیمینار میں بحیثیت مہمان مقرر پروفسیر ڈاکٹر عاصم نعیم صاحب، ڈائریکٹر،ادارہ علوم اسلامیہ پنجاب یونیورسٹی تھے۔ ڈاکٹر صاحب نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کی ختم نبوت کے فکری اثرات پر سیر حاصل گفتگو فرمائی اور تاکید کی کہ ایمان اور عقیدہ ختم نبوت کو دلوں میں اس طرح راسخ کریں کہ الحاد کا مقابلہ کیا جا سکے۔ دوسری مہمان مقررہ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شاہدہ پروین، سابق ڈائریکٹر ادارہ علوم اسلامیہ، پنجاب یونیورسٹی نے رسول اللہ ﷺ کی ختم نبوت کے معاشرتی اثرات کے موضوع پر عالمانہ گفتگو کی اور سیرت رسول اللہ ﷺ کے عملی پہلو اجاگر کرتے ہوئے یہ پیغام دیا کہ مسلمانوں کو آج کے دن یہ عہد کرنا چاہئے کہ خاتم النبیین ﷺ کے اس امتیاز کو تا ابد قائم رکھیں گے ۔مہمان اعزاز محترمہ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر فلیحہ زہرا صاحبہ نے مہمان مقررین کی گفتگو کو سراہا۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر زاہدہ شبنم نے وائس چانسلر، مہمانان گرامی، اساتذہ کرام اور طالبات کا شکریہ ادا کیا ۔

LCWU Shines at LOK Sahaita STEM Talent Search 2026, Karachi
PhD Geography Scholar Ms. Nimra Arshad and Dr. Nausheen Mazhar, Chairperson, Department of Geography, represented Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) at the LOK Sahaita STEM Talent Search 2026 with their innovative project that used satellite data to develop a dynamic, dashboard-based approach for monitoring smog and pollutant variability during the smog season, supporting more informed air-quality management in Punjab.
The event featured a project display and evaluation at the Karachi Expo Centre . On Day 1, projects were evaluated by a distinguished jury comprising experts from academia, business, and industry, while Day 2 was open to the public for project display and interaction.
The Grand Finale and Award Ceremony was held on September 6, 2026, at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi. The LCWU team was honoured with the Technical Excellence Award, presented by the Honourable Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, along with a cash prize of Rs. 100,000. Gold Medals were also awarded to both team members, Ms. Nimra Arshad and Dr. Nausheen Mazhar, in recognition of their achievement.
This accomplishment highlights LCWU's commitment to innovative, technology-driven research and its contribution to addressing critical environmental challenges through geospatial technologies and satellite-based Earth observation.

An Inter-Departmental Quiz Competition was successfully organized at Lahore College for Women University under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof.Dr.Uzma Quraishi , celebrating the historic milestone of 75 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations.The academic event was held under the convenorship of Prof. Dr. Shabnam Gul , Chairperson, Department of International Relations, in collaboration with Directorate Student Affairs and Political Science Department, bringing together students to highlight the deep-rooted cultural, political, and strategic ties between the two iron brothers.
Highly competitive teams from the Department of International Relations, Political Science, and Pakistan Studies actively participated in the competition . The winning team has the honour of representing LCWU at the upcoming inter-university round at the University of the Punjab.
