ہوش و خرد شکار کر قلب و نظر کنار کر.

تو ہے محیطِ بے قراں میں ہوں زرا سی آبجو
یا مجھے ہم کنار کر یا مجھے بے کنار کر.

نگاہِ فقر میں شانِ سکندری کیا ہے
خراج کی جو گدا ہو وہ قیصری کیا ہے.

بتوں سے تجھ کو امیدیں خدا سے نا امیدیں
مجھے بتا تو سہی اور کافری کیا ہے.

کبھی اے حقیقتِ منتظر نظر آ لباسِ مجاز میں
کہ ہزاروں سجدے تڑپ رہے ہیں میری جبینِ نیاز میں

جو میں سر بسجدہ ہوا کہیں تو زمیں سے آنے لگی صدا
تیرا دل تو ہے صنم آشنا تجھے کیا ملے گا نماز میں.
