Flag Hoisting Ceremony
Commemoration of 75 Years of Diplomatic Relations Between Pakistan and China
Dated: 21st May, 2026

In compliance with the directives issued by the Government of Sindh, Universities & Boards Department, Karachi, The University of Larkano organized a Flag Hoisting Ceremony on 21st May, 2026 to commemorate the 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

Ceremony was held at the Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities, The University of Larkano, with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. Mr. Khalil Jibran Abbasi, Chairman DELL & PRO The University of Larkano, Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Shaikh, Chairman DBA, Dr. Ayaz Maitlo, faculty members, administrative officers, staff, and students participated in the event.

During the ceremony, the national flag of Pakistan was hoisted to symbolize patriotism, peace, and the longstanding diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. Speakers highlighted the historic friendship and mutual cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for the prosperity and progress of Pakistan and China.

The University of Larkano successfully organized the Prime Minister Youth Laptop Scheme (PMYLS) Phase-IV Distribution Ceremony at the IT Hall, Main Campus, The University of Larkano.

The ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. Fahad Shafiq and the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nek Muhammad Shaikh. The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by Naat Sharif and the National Anthem.

During his welcome address, the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nek Muhammad Shaikh warmly welcomed the distinguished Chief Guest, guests, sectional heads, faculty members, and students.

Dr. Javed Shabir Dar, Super Focal person PMYLS TUoL, in his speech, appreciated the dedicated efforts and cooperation of all departmental focal persons in ensuring the successful ex*****on of the scheme.

The ceremony was further graced by Dr. Sultan Ahmed Metlo, Dr. Farhan Basheer Shaikh, Dr. Syed Abid Ali Shah, and Dr. Afaque Bhutto, who attended as special guests.

Addressing the Event, Chief Guest Dr. Fahad Shafiq highlighted the importance of the Prime Minister Youth Laptop Scheme. He appreciated the collective efforts of the organizing team and reaffirmed that his office doors are always open for students facing academic or administrative difficulties.

Chief Guest, Worthy Vice Chancellor, distinguished guests, and sectional heads then officially inaugurated the laptop distribution ceremony.
Subsequently, laptops were distributed among the selected students by the Chief Guest, honorary guests, Vice Chancellor, Dean Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Focal Person Faculty of Social Sciences, Focal Person Faculty of Engineering, departmental chairmen, and focal persons.

The event concluded with enthusiasm and a renewed commitment to academic excellence and the digital empowerment of students.

The University of Larkano proudly participated in the 4th International Multi-disciplinary Conference on Emerging Engineering Technologies (IMCEET-2026), organized by Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology and Skill Development on May 14, 2026, at Khairpur Mir’s.

Worthy Vice Chancellor the University of Larkano, Prof. Dr. Nek Muhammad Shaikh, along with Dr. Syed Abid Ali Shah, represented the university at the prestigious international conference.

Addressing the conference as the Guest of Honor, Prof. Dr. Nek Muhammad Shaikh emphasized that the present era is driven by technological revolution and innovation, highlighting the growing significance of multidisciplinary fields including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cyber Security, Data Science, and Cloud Computing. He appreciated the efforts of researchers and expressed pride that a research paper authored by Dr. Syed Abid Ali Shah from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Larkano, had been accepted for presentation at the conference.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Nek Muhammad Shaikh also received a souvenir from Syed Qaim Ali Shah in recognition of his participation in the conference.
The Vice Chancellor of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology and Skill Development, Dr. Rasool Bux Mahar, thanked Prof. Dr. Nek Muhammad Shaikh for his valuable participation and contribution towards the success of the conference.

Speaking to media personnel, Dr. Syed Abid Ali Shah stated that such conferences are the need of the hour, as they provide an excellent platform for researchers, industrialists, professors, journalists, and young scholars to come together under one umbrella and discuss emerging and transformative technologies.

Dr. Syed Abid Ali Shah also participated in the IEEE panel discussion, where he highlighted that students from the interior regions of Sindh possess remarkable potential, and such conferences create a productive brainstorming environment for students, researchers, and participants.

Furthermore, Dr. Abid Ali Shah visited the poster competition during the conference, where he encouraged participants and shared valuable technical insights and ideas with young researchers.

Both Prof. Dr. Nek Muhammad Shaikh and Dr. Syed Abid Ali Shah represented the University of Larkano with distinction, strengthening academic collaboration and fostering cordial relations among neighboring institutions.
