Psychological assessment is one of the core areas of Psychology. To enrich students practical knowledge regarding psychological assessment a one day seminar was arranged at the department of Psychology Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. Dr Azaz Jamal assistant Professor department of psychiatry Bacha Khan Medical College Mardan shed light on the importance and method of psychological assessment of patients at hospital. Dr. Tahir Farid moderated the session. A large number of students and faculty of Psychology participated in the seminar.

Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Celebrates Remarkable Progress Under the Leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zahoor ul Haq

[MARDAN, 05-12-2023] – The faculty and staff of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan gathered in a heartfelt get-together to honor and acknowledge the exceptional contributions of Prof. Dr. Zahoor ul Haq. The simple yet graceful program was organized to express gratitude for his dedicated service to the university.

Prof. Dr. Zahoor ul Haq, a distinguished academician, researcher and administrator has played a pivotal role in shaping the academic landscape of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. His unwavering commitment and tireless efforts have left an indelible mark on the institution, influencing both students and colleagues alike.

The staff, faculty, and students of Psychology are represneted by Dr. Syed Rashid Ali, Head of the Department and Dr. Tahir Farid,, Assistant Professor.
Dr. Syed Rashid Ali gifted "Sahib e Swat", a historical book recently edited and published by him to the worthy Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zahoor ul Haq, Sitara-e-Imtiyaz.

In his address to the faculty, staff, and attendees, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zahoor ul Haq stated that this university has journeyed from challenges to triumphs, and today, we stand as a beacon of excellence in academia. Our global recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of every member of the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan family. The Vice Chancellor's commitment to transparency and ensuring the welfare of the university's employees has been a driving force behind the institution's success.

At the end of the farewell program, Prof. Dr. Zahoor ul Haq was warmly recognized for his remarkable services. The entire faculty expressed their appreciation for his leadership, mentorship, and significant contributions to the growth and development of the university. He was presented with numerous souvenirs and gifts as tokens of appreciation.

The Department of Psychology Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan officially signed an MOU with MTI BKMC Mardan. Both the parties agreed to provide internship oppurtunities to students, research collaboration and seminars. Dr. Syed Rashid Ali, Dr. Tahir Farid, Mr. Zahoor Alam, and Mr. Adnan khan from Department of Psychology Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, While Dr. Amjad Ali, Dr. Fazil, Dr Iftihar from MTI BKMC Mardan attended the MOU ceremony. Dr. Syed Rashid Ali Head of Department of Psychology AWKUM and Dr. Amjad Ali Associate Dean Research MTI BKMC signed the MOU.

The Department of Psychology Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan arranged a one day seminar on mental health, Mental Health Awareness Walk, Poster Presentation and Free Counselling Camp at main campus of university on the occasion of mental health day. Dr. Tahir Farid, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, enriched the participants about the knowledge on mental health and well being. At the end of the seminar, a walk was arranged in supervision of the Head of the Department of Psychology, Dr. Syed Rashid Ali along with faculty and students. The students and faculty displayed playcards regarding Mental health awareness. Furthermore, Coordinator Main Campus, Syed Ali Shah, inaugurated the poster presentations and free counselling camp ceremony. The students presented different Psychological disorders through poster presentations. At the end both the faculty and students administered free counselling sessions for the students and employees.

A seminar on mental health awareness and self care on world's mental health day was organized by the Department of Psychology. The faculty members of the department including honorable Chairperson Sir Rashid Ali along with department coordinator Sir Dr Tahir Farid lead the seminar and briefed the students on mental health care awareness.
