A graceful ceremony for the distribution of laptops under the Prime Ministerโ€™s Laptop Scheme was held at to empower students with modern technological tools and promote digital learning.

Vice Chancellor , Pro Vice Chancellor , and Dean distributed laptops among deserving students and congratulated them on this important achievement.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Gul Muhammad Khan highlighted the importance of digital access, innovation, and technology-driven education, stating that empowering students with modern tools is essential for preparing future engineers, researchers, and industry leaders. He encouraged students to utilize these laptops for learning, research, skill development, and contributing positively toward national progress.

The Department of Computer Science, UET Mardan is organizing SmogNet Datathon 2026 in collaboration with Code for Pakistan and OpenStreetMap. The event is designed as a one-day hands-on Data Science & AI challenge focused on teamwork, innovation, and practical learning.

Participants will engage in solving real-world challenges related to air quality monitoring, anomaly detection, and smart public alert systems using modern Data Science and AI techniques.

The Department of Civil Engineering, University of Engineering & Technology Mardan organized an informative seminar titled *โ€œFinal Year Design Project (FYDP): Guidelines & Evaluation Frameworkโ€* on *7th May 2026* to provide comprehensive guidance to students regarding the FYDP process.

The seminar highlighted important aspects of FYDP including project selection, planning, proposal development, research methodology, evaluation rubrics, project milestones, SDGs integration, and final defense requirements. Students were also guided on applying engineering knowledge to solve real-world problems through innovative and practical solutions.

The session emphasized the significance of teamwork, technical competence, communication skills, research, and sustainable engineering practices in developing successful final year projects.

The seminar was conducted by Dr. Wajid Ali and concluded with an interactive discussion session where studentsโ€™ questions regarding FYDP procedures, timelines, and expectations were addressed.

๐Ÿ“ข 23rd Meeting of the Syndicate of UET Mardan held on May 10, 2026

The 23rd meeting of the Syndicate of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Mardan was held under the chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Gul Muhammad Khan. The meeting focused on key academic, administrative, legal, and developmental matters aimed at strengthening institutional governance and administrative efficiency.

The Syndicate approved study leave grants and extensions for faculty members and Lab Engineers pursuing higher studies and research at national and international institutions. The forum also reviewed the implementation report of previous decisions and expressed satisfaction over the progress achieved by the university administration.

Among the major decisions, the Syndicate approved the appointment of Prof. Dr. Murtaza Ali as Chairman, Department of Natural Sciences and Humanities, for a period of three years. The updated panel of subject experts for various academic programs was also approved in line with HEC guidelines.

The forum further discussed important service-related matters concerning TTS and BPS structures and approved the constitution of a high-level Technical Committee comprising representatives from the Higher Education Department, Establishment Department, Finance Department, legal experts, and university administration to examine the matter comprehensively and submit recommendations in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

In addition, the Syndicate approved the amendment agreement between UET Mardan and KPITB regarding the Software Technology Park (STP) established at the university.

The Vice Chancellor appreciated the valuable contributions of the honorable Syndicate members and thanked all participants for their constructive role in advancing governance, academic excellence, and institutional development at UET Mardan.

In the true spirit of Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, where unity, resilience, discipline, and teamwork define our national strength, exciting faculty cricket matches were organized on 10 May 2026 at the University of Engineering and Technology Mardan between the faculty teams of University of Engineering and Technology Mardan and University of Technology Nowshera.

The event reflected the message of solidarity, brotherhood, and collective strength, demonstrating how sports can build stronger institutional ties and inspire a culture of positivity and collaboration. Faculty members from both universities showcased remarkable enthusiasm, passion, and sportsmanship throughout the series, making the event both memorable and meaningful.

The Center of Artificial Intelligence (AI), UET Mardan successfully organized a workshop on Microbial Water Quality using Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with researchers and industry experts at UET Mardan.

The workshop was conducted under the patronage and engagement of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Muhammad Khan( Gul Muhammad Khan ), whose vision for AI-driven innovation and applied research continues to shape the future direction of UET Mardan. The activity was led by Director Center of AI, Prof. Dr. Imran Khan , with valuable support from Chairman Department of Civil Engineering, Dr. Muhammad Alam, along with the dedicated faculty members of the Civil Engineering Department.

The workshop was conducted with the support of the Department of Civil Engineering, whose laboratory facilities and technical resources were utilized to facilitate practical experimentation, microbial analysis, and hands-on learning activities during the sessions.

The workshop focused on the application of AI and emerging technologies for rapid microbial contamination detection, smart water quality assessment, and intelligent monitoring systems aimed at ensuring safe and sustainable water resources.

The Directorate of Clubs and Societies at University of Engineering and Technology Mardan successfully organized a series of speech, painting, and short film competitions at the Seminar Hall in connection with Marka-e-Haq and Bunyan-ul-Marsoos.
The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the National Anthem, setting a patriotic and inspiring tone for the program. Students actively participated in speech, painting, and videography competitions, showcasing remarkable creativity, confidence, and talent.
๐Ÿ… Certificates were awarded to the winners and participants by the respected judges in recognition of their outstanding performances.
The program concluded with a dignified Flag March, followed by concluding remarks from the Convenor of Clubs and Societies, Mr. Fawad Khan, who appreciated the efforts of the students, organizers, and judges for making the event successful and memorable.
