GGDC Sheikh Maltoon Mardan is currently conducting its pre-board examination for the session 2025-2026, which commenced on 17 Feb 2026. The examination is ongoing, with the Physics paper designed on E-marking format for Intermediate Part I for the first time, as per BISE Mardan guidelines. The examination is being held as per the requirements of BISE Mardan.The E-marking format for Physics paper aims to familiarize students with the new format and assess their preparation. The initiative aims to enhance the assessment process and prepare students for the final exams.

GGDC Sheikh Maltoon Mardan achieved remarkable success by securing six positions in various sports tournaments:
1. Badminton – 1st Position
2. Netball – 1st Position
3. Table Tennis – 2nd Position
4. Handball – 3rd Position
5. Basketball – 3rd Position
6. Throwball – 3rd Position

The college also secured Overall 3rd Position in the Mardan Zone.

This outstanding achievement reflects the dedication, discipline, and hard work of the students, along with the continuous support and encouragement provided by the college administration.

Heartiest congratulations to Principal Prof. Salma Ghani for providing excellent facilities and unwavering support to the sports teams and players.

Special appreciation goes to Associate Professor HPE / DPE Prof. Salma Naz, whose tireless efforts, professional expertise, and strong leadership played a pivotal role in preparing the teams. Her continuous supervision and commitment greatly contributed to this remarkable success. Sincere thanks are extended to Lecturer in HPE Ms. Sadaqat for her dedicated training sessions, valuable guidance, and constant motivation of the players throughout the tournaments.

In connection with thematic activities on preventing/countering violent extremism in the Higher Education Department, a seminar was conducted at GGDC Sheikh Maltoon Mardan. The event aimed to promote awareness and discuss strategies to counter violent extremism, focusing on rejection of extremism in all its forms.

The seminar began with compering, followed by the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat Sharif. Speakers included Ms. Shehla, Assistant Professor of Law, who delivered a speech, followed by guest speaker Ms. Farzana Khatoon, Religious Scholar and Assistant Professor of Islamiyat at GGDC Par Hoti Mardan, who spoke about prevention of violent extremism in the light of Islam. Madam Prof. Salma Ghani also emphasized the need for collective efforts to counter extremist ideologies.

An awareness walk was organized, participated by teachers and students, to spread the message of countering extremism. The event provided a platform for discussion and awareness on preventing violent extremism, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts to promote peace and tolerance.

A session was conducted by Ms. Hafsa, Lecturer in Chemistry at GGDC Sheikh Maltoon Mardan, for the staff teaching Intermediate students. The session focused on SLO-based E-paper attempt and on-screen checking for the Intermediate session (2025–2026 onwards).

The objectives were to explain the implementation of SLO-based assessment through electronic papers and digital checking.

The discussion covered benefits of attempting E-paper for Intermediate exams and benefits of on-screen checking in the assessment process.

The target audience was staff teaching Intermediate classes. The session aimed to familiarize teaching staff with electronic assessment methods and their advantages in the Intermediate program.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched the Insaf Female Education Card scheme to provide free higher education to female students, including orphans. At GGDC Sheikh Maltoon Mardan, the fee refund process is underway. Fee Refund Details: A fee of Rs. 2,700 was refunded to each pre-medical, pre-engineering, and computer science student. A fee of Rs. 2,400 was refunded to each arts student. 2023-2024 batch 1st-year students received refunds on December 29. 2023-2024 batch 2nd-year students will receive refunds in the next stage. Principal Salma Ghani refunded fees to 1st-year students as part of the scheme.

The social‑work activity at Govt Girls Degree College Sheikh Maltoon, Mardan, involved painting and whitewashing flower pots, trees, the campus fountain, and the flower beds. Students from various departments took part, helping to brighten the environment and foster a sense of community. Certificates were handed out to participants by Ms. Atia Naz, Assistant professor in chemistry and Ms. Hajra, Assistant professor in Botany, recognizing their contribution.
