Multiple PhD Positions – Digital Agriculture & Robotics (NSF + USDA Projects)
We are recruiting multiple PhD students to join two new NSF- and USDA-funded projects aimed at advancing next-generation digital agricultural systems.
Research Themes:
1️⃣ Autonomous greenhouse systems integrating physics-informed models, plant-centered sensing, adaptive & reinforcement-learning control, digital twins, and vision-guided robotics to optimize crop growth and resource efficiency.
2️⃣ Distributed multi-agent field robotics where heterogeneous robots use learning-based perception, decentralized control, and crop-interaction models to optimize field sensing, interventions, and crop-state evolution.
Preferred Background:
* Strong computational foundation (control + machine learning required)
* MS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
* Experience in learning-based control or precision agriculture
* Exposure to plant sciences is a plus
How to Apply:
Send a single PDF containing CV + academic transcripts to Javad Velni ([email protected]).
Only qualified candidates will be contacted.
