In a significant recognition of academic excellence and professional leadership, Ms. Shaheen Ghani, Director of the Institute of Nursing Sciences at Sarhad University of Science & Information Technology, Peshawar, has been selected as a permanent member of the Pakistan Nursing & Midwifery Council (PNMC), Islamabad.

Ms. Ghani’s appointment is particularly distinguished as she has been chosen to represent the entire Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Her selection to the apex regulatory body for nursing and midwifery in the country underscores her exceptional contributions to the field of nursing education and healthcare.

The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), Sarhad University of Science & Information Technology (SUIT), Peshawar, proudly congratulates its selected students on being chosen as MRC Student Ambassadors under the PROTECT Project – Pakistan, an initiative of (MRC).

The selected ambassadors participated in a Two-Day Capacity Building Training held at Peshawar Barracks on 12th & 13th February 2026. The training focused on safe and informed migration, legal pathways, scholarship opportunities, and fraud prevention.

Through this initiative, SUIT students will contribute to empowering youth with accurate guidance on international education and migration processes. SUIT commends their leadership and commitment toward responsible community engagement.

Sarhad University of Science & Information Technology commemorated the 150th Birth Anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah through a Declamation Contest organized by the Drama, Literary & Debating Society.

The event served as a platform for students to reflect upon the vision, leadership, and constitutional foresight of the Founder of Pakistan. Participants eloquently articulated Quaid-e-Azam’s principles of unity, faith, discipline, democratic governance, and rule of law, highlighting their contemporary relevance in national development.

Khushal Riaz Khan, a distinguished student of Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology, was honored by Faisal Karim Kundi, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in recognition of his outstanding achievements in international squash.

During the ceremony at Governor House Peshawar, the Governor emphasized that education alongside healthy sports activities is essential for the balanced development and effective grooming of youth. He appreciated Sarhad University’s contribution to promoting sports and expressed hope that other universities in the province would also provide quality sports facilities to students. He further stated that talented youth like Khushal are a valuable asset and pride of the province and the country.

Khushal has proudly represented Pakistan in prestigious international championships including the British Junior Open, US Junior Open, Canadian Junior Open, Japan Junior Open, and Qatar Junior Open. He also serves as Captain of the HEC Squash Team and secured a Bronze Medal at the National Games.

On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Salim-ur-Rehman briefed the Governor on the University’s academic and co-curricular initiatives, particularly the strategic steps taken under the Department of Sports Sciences to promote sports culture and provide structured training opportunities to students.

The two-day “Art Hunt” Competition for Young Artists, organized by the Department of Art & Design, concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from more than 75 students representing various colleges.
The event served as a vibrant platform for emerging artists to showcase their creativity, originality, and technical skills. The competition reflected an impressive diversity of artistic expression and innovative ideas throughout the two days.
Winners and Runners-up were awarded Certificates and Cash Prizes, while all participants received Certificates of Participation in recognition of their talent and effort.
The competition was judged by Dr. Faiza Touqeer, HoD Department of Art & Design, University of Peshawar, whose valuable evaluation and feedback added great significance to the event.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Salim ur Rehman as the Chief Guest, whose encouragement and appreciation further motivated the young artists.

Sarhad University of Science & Information Technology (SUIT), Peshawar, welcomed the delegation of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) for the Outcome-Based Accreditation (OBA) re-accreditation visit of its BSc Electrical, Civil, and Mechanical Engineering programs.

The PEC evaluation team conducted a comprehensive assessment of academic processes, curriculum mapping with Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), laboratory infrastructure, faculty profile, student performance, Final Year Projects, industry engagement, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) mechanisms. Detailed interactions were held with faculty members, students, alumni, and university management to evaluate compliance with PEC’s OBE framework.
