was successfully conducted at the Department of Oral Biology, Khyber College of Dentistry, as part of KCD-CON 2026.

The workshop was highly interactive and enriched with valuable clinical insights, enabling participants to strengthen their understanding of mixed dentition and its practical identification.

A well-organized and informative Pre Conference workshop was successfully conducted titled *From Anxiety In to Calm: Principles and Practice of Nitrous Oxide Sedation in Children* at KCD, on Friday 24th April 2026, bringing together distinguished faculty members, professionals, and enthusiastic participants.

The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a formal opening and welcome address by The focal person of the workshop, Dr. Hajra Safeer, the importance of continuous learning and professional development in the field was highlighted

The workshop was honored by the presence of the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Hasham Khan, a pioneer of pediatric dentistry at KCD, whose contributions to the specialty have been widely recognized. Dr. Hasham was formally introduced to the audience, and his remarkable efforts in establishing and advancing pediatric dentistry were acknowledged.

He was then invited to deliver a keynote speech, where he shared valuable insights, experiences, and guidance, which proved to be highly inspiring and informative for all attendees.

The academic session was further enriched by lectures delivered by distinguished facilitators, including Prof. Dr. Amjad H. Wyne and Dr. Sajjad Ahmad, whose sessions added depth and practical knowledge to the workshop.

The session also recognized the contributions of Dr. Qadeem, former Head of the Department, who played a significant role in further strengthening the department after Dr. Hasham. His dedication and leadership were appreciated by the audience.

A large number of participants attended the workshop, reflecting strong interest and commitment toward professional growth. Participants were actively involved throughout the session, contributing to an engaging and interactive learning environment.

The organizers extended special thanks to the Chairman of the 2nd KCD Conference, Dr. Ahsan Mehmood, and the Chairperson of the Workshop Committee, Dr. Aiman Khan, for their support and efforts in making this event successful.

KCD successfully conducted the pre-conference workshop titled Cracking CBCT IN IMPLANTS & DENTISTRY on 23rd April 2026 at Department Oral Medicine and Diagnosis Peshawar, as part of the academic activities under the 2nd International KCD-CON 2026.

The workshop commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and followed by a welcome note.

The session was led by Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmed Atiq, who served as the main speaker and facilitator offering participants with a practical and academically enriching learning experience.

Participants learnt how to use intraoral scanners for taking digital impressions and interpretation of CBCT scans.

They also learnt how to use the Planmeca romexis software for implant designing and virtual placement and were able to perform digital implant planning based on Anatomical and pathological considerations. Participant’s were provided with a book let to effectively use the software by the facilitator.

The workshop was conducted under the tremendous support and guidance of Prof. Dr. Syed Nasir Shah (Patron-in-Chief & Dean KCD), Prof. Dr. Ahsan Mehmood Shah (Conference Chairman), Prof. Dr. Samrina Muhammad (Conference Co-Chairperson), and Dr. Aiman Khan (Chairperson Workshops Committee), whose encouragement and leadership played a vital role in the successful ex*****on of the event.

The Event was organized by the Department of Oral Medicine and Diagnosis,KCD with Dr. Arikah Khalid Awan serving as the Focal Person and Organizer of the workshop.

KCD successfully conducted a comprehensive hands-on workshop titled “Removable Partial Denture Designing” on 23rd April 2026, at the Prosthodontics Department , as part of the academic activities under KCD CON 2026.

The session was led by Dean Prof. Dr. Nasir Shah and Associate Prof. Dr. Asif Ullah Khan, who served as the Lead Facilitators and Speakers. They delivered in-depth insights into the principles and clinical aspects of removable partial denture designing, emphasizing structured treatment planning and real-world application in partially edentulous patients.

The primary objectives of the workshop were to enable participants to master a systematic and clinically relevant approach to partial denture designing, apply biomechanical principles for predictable support, retention, and stability, enhance decision-making skills for complex partially edentulous cases, and improve precision in design and laboratory communication.

The learning experience included interactive discussions and practical demonstrations, allowing participants to translate theoretical concepts into clinical practice. Attendees were guided step-by-step through the designing process, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and communication with the dental laboratory.

Participants were provided with refreshments, followed by detailed hands-on exercises, enabling them to actively engage in designing removable partial dentures under expert supervision in a controlled learning environment.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from house officers, and post grad residents , reflecting a strong interest in advancing knowledge and skills in prosthodontics.

Khyber College of Dentistry, Peshawar successfully conducted a hands-on workshop titled “Crown Lengthening A Saviour for Compromised Tooth” on 23rd April 2026 at the Department of Periodontology and Implantology, KCD, as part of the academic activities under KCD CON 2026.

The workshop commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, setting a respectful and professional tone for the event. The session was led by Dr. Safia Rehmat, who served as the Lead Facilitator and Speaker, delivering comprehensive insights into the fundamentals of Crown Lengthening, including case selection, treatment planning, and surgical protocols.

The learning experience was further enriched by Co-Facilitators Dr M Hussam Ashfaq, Dr Naveed, Dr Jameel and Dr Syed Maaz Masoom Shah, who provided continuous guidance and support to participants throughout the workshop.

Participants were provided with tea, followed by a detailed hands-on demonstration by the Lead Facilitator. This was succeeded by hands-on crown lengthening on goat head as models, allowing participants to develop practical skills in a controlled environment. A lunch break was then observed.

Khyber College of Dentistry, Peshawar successfully conducted the pre-conference workshop titled “Hands-On 3D Metal Printing in Dentistry: From Digital Scan to Metal Crown” on 23rd April 2026 at Chughtai Dental Studio, 141-Industrial Estate, Hayatabad, Peshawar, as part of the academic activities under the 2nd International KCD-CON 2026.

The workshop commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Dr. Talha Falak Khalil, setting a respectful and professional tone for the session. This was followed by welcome remarks by Dr. Sajid Hussain, who warmly welcomed the participants and also introduced the speaker for the day.

The session was led by Dr. Abdul Majid Khan, who served as the main speaker and facilitator. Dr. Abdul Majid Khan holds BDS and RDS qualifications, is a Resident FCPS Prosthodontics at SBDC, and is also a Dental CADCAM Designer and Dental Jewellery Designer.

He provided valuable insights into the complete digital workflow of 3D metal printing in dentistry, offering participants a practical and academically enriching learning experience.

The workshop covered a wide range of important topics and hands-on activities, including digital scanning, CAD-based designing, smile designing, live metal printing, crown designing, and an overview of the complete digital workflow from scan to final metal restoration.

Participants were given practical exposure to contemporary digital dentistry techniques in a highly interactive learning environment.

Khyber College of Dentistry, Peshawar successfully conducted a hands-on workshop titled 3D orbital floor reconstruction, hand on planning and practice on 22nd April 2026 by the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery KCD, at the Multipurpose Hall, as part of the academic activities under KCD CON 2026.

The workshop commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, setting a respectful and professional tone for the event.

The session was led by Prof Dr Basheer Rehman and Associate Professor Dr Tariq Ahmad, who served as the Lead Facilitator and Speaker, delivering comprehensive insights into the fundamentals of orbital anatomy, anatomical structures, diagnosis of orbital floor fractures, treatment planning using different software, and titanium mesh adaptation and application in orbital floor fractures on stereolithographic models.

Khyber College of Dentistry (KCD) successfully conducted a pre-conference hands-on workshop titled “From Biopsy to Certainty: The Pivotal Role of Histopathology in Head and Neck Lesions” today on 22nd April, as part of KCD CON 2026 at KCD, Peshawar.

The workshop commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, setting a respectful and inspiring tone for the session.

The workshop was conducted by Dr. Khurshid Ali Malik, Dr. Sumrina Muhammad and Dr.Hina Shabir who delivered an engaging, informative, and clinically oriented session highlighting the critical role of histopathology in achieving definitive diagnosis of head and neck lesions.

The session emphasized the journey from biopsy to final diagnosis, covering essential aspects such as microscopic interpretation. Special focus was given to correlating clinical findings with histopathological features to ensure diagnostic accuracy and improved patient management.

This was followed by an interactive hands-on component, where participants were guided through slide examination, identification of key histopathological features, and discussion of challenging cases, enhancing their diagnostic confidence and practical skills.

The workshop was organized efficiently by Dr.Suman Muhammad Wazir, the Department of Oral Pathology, KCD, with dedicated efforts ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated event.
