Area Study Center for Middle East Area Study Center University of Balochistan offers MPhil/PhD programs in IR, Pol. Sc., History & Economics with specialization on Middle Eastern Studies.

The Area Study Center for Middle East and Arab World (ASCME) has been established by the Federal Government of Pakistan at the University of Balochistan Quetta in 1989 through a parliamentary legislation (Act No. XLV of 1975) passed by the first elected National Assembly of Pakistan to develop a better understanding of the Middle Eastern countries among its academia and decision makers in the corr

idors of power. The ASCME seeks to promote inter-disciplinary study and research about this geopolitically important resource-rich region to strengthen academic and diplomatic ties with the Middle Eastern States. The Area Study Center with its own distinguished teaching faculty offers M.Phil and PhD programs in Area Studies (History, Political Science, International Relations and Economics) with specialization on the Middle East and Arab Countries.
