گورنمنٹ پوسٹ گریجویٹ کالج راولاکوٹ میں نئے سیشن کے آغاز پر تعارفی تقریب انعقاد پذیر ہوئی۔پروگرام تقریباً سوا دس بجے شروع ہوا ۔سٹیج سیکرٹری کی زمہ داری احتشام ظہور لیکچرر شماریات نے نبھائی۔
تلاوت کلام پاک کی سعادت پروفیسر حماد احمد شعبہ انگریزی نے حاصل کی جب کہ
ہدیہ نعت بحضور رسول مقبول ابصار احمد لیکچرار کیمسٹری نے پیش کیا۔
ابتدائی گفتگو چیئرمین شعبہ اُردو پروفیسر محمد ایاز کیانی نے کی۔
آپ نے بچوں اور والدین کو خوش آمدید کہا۔اور کہا کہ آپ نے اس عظیم درسگاہ کا انتخاب کرکے درست فیصلہ کیا ہے۔اس کے بعد
پروفیسر عبدالرحیم انچارج ماڈل سائنس سیکشن فار گرلز اور
پروفیسر محمد صغیر خان انچارج ماڈل سائنس سیکشن فار بوائز نے بات کی۔اور کالج رولز کے حوالے سے بچوں کو بریف کیا اور کہا کہ آپ نے اپنے بچوں کے مستقبل کے لیے اس ادارے کا انتخاب کیا اس اعتماد کے لیے ہم آپ کے شکر گزار ہیں لیکن اب آپ کی زمہ داری ختم نہیں ہو گئی بلکہ آپ نے بچوں کی بہتر رہنمائی کے ساتھ ساتھ ادارے سے وابستہ رہ کر بچے کے مسائل کا تدارک کرنے میں ہمارا دست و بازو بننا ہے۔

پرنسپل گورنمنٹ پوسٹ گریجویٹ کالج راولاکوٹ پروفیسر یاسر عرفات عباسی نے سلائیڈز کی مدد سے ادارے کی تاریخ اور کارکردگی کے حوالے سے شرکائے تقریب کو بریف کیا۔
کمشنر پونچھ ڈویژن سردار وحید خورشید نے کہا کہ میں چار سال تک اس ادارے کا طالب علم رہا۔مگر اس وقت پڑھائی کا یہ ماحول میسر نہ تھا۔گزشتہ پندرہ سال سے ادارے نے ایک نئی اٹھان لی ہے اور ادارے کی فیکلٹی اور مختلف سربراہان ادارہ نے ایک نئے اپنا بھرپور کردار ادا کیا جس کی وجہ سے یہ ادارہ اس وقت پوری ریاست میں نتائج کے اعتبار سے اپنی ایک منفرد پہچان رکھتا ہے۔
مہمان خصوصی وزیر ہائر ایجوکیشن ملک ظفر
نے کہا کہ ہم نے آزاد کشمیر میں اعلیٰ تعلیم کے فروغ کے لیے اپنی بساط کے مطابق بھرپور کوشش کی۔حالیہ تعلیمی پیکیج ضرورت کے تحت دیا اور کوشش کی کہ جہاں کہیں ضرورت تھی وہاں تعلیمی اداروں کو اپ گریڈ کیا ۔۔۔۔
یہ ادارہ ہم سب کے لیے فخر کا باعث ہے۔۔
اور میں پرنسپل صاحب کی اس بات سے اتفاق کرتا ہوں کہ دوران سیشن تبادلہ جات نہیں ہونے چاہئیں اور جب کبھی ناگزیر ہوں تو پرنسپلز کو اعتماد میں لے کر تبادلے کیے جائیں۔
تقریب کا اختتام دعا سے ہوا سینئر ترین فیکلٹی ممبر پروفیسر محمد طارق خان نے دعا کرائی۔

The orientation session for the Intermediate Session 2026–28 was held today at Government Boys Postgraduate College Rawalakot. The chief guest on the occasion was Mr. Zafar Iqbal Malik, Minister for Higher Education, AJK, who addressed the gathering and highlighted the key initiatives undertaken during his tenure in the Higher Education Department. He also assured the principal, faculty, and students of his continued support and commitment to reforms in the higher education sector.
The ceremony was further graced by the presence of Sardar Waheed Khan, Commissioner Poonch Division; Mazhar Ahmed Khan, Divisional Director Colleges Poonch; and senior officials from the Planning Department.
Principal Dr Yasar Arfat delivered a comprehensive presentation on the college, highlighting its history, academic achievements, and future development plans. Dr Zafar Iqbal, Senior Vice President of AKCTA, addressed the audience on behalf of the college community and congratulated the minister on his successful tenure. Heads of various sections also briefed students and parents regarding the code of conduct and assessment policies.
The proceedings of the ceremony were conducted by Professor Ehtasham Zahoor.
The newly constructed academic block was also inaugurated on the occasion.
A large number of parents and students attended the orientation session. Classes for the new academic session will commence on June 1, 2026.

Department of Botany – Government Boys Postgraduate College Rawalakot

The Department of Botany has initiated an important project aimed at the conservation of medicinal flora in District Poonch. As part of this initiative, threatened and vulnerable medicinal plant species collected from various areas are being preserved and cultivated in the college botanical garden.

In addition, highly valuable medicinal and aromatic plants including Rosemary, Lavender, and Bergenia species are being grown under controlled environmental conditions to support research, conservation, and awareness.

We are pleased to share a special video highlighting the efforts and achievements of this conservation project by the Department of Botany.
