Delighted to share the documentary prepared by BS Forensic Science (1st Year) students, University of Poonch Rawalakot on the seminar “Evidence from Crime Scene to Courtroom.”

This project showcases the dedication and creativity of our students under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed (Dean), Prof. Dr. Shahid Iqbal Awan (Chairman, Department of Forensic Science), Mr. Shoaib Mumtaz (Lecturer) and the entire faculty who supported them.

A special appreciation to Mr. Moiz for his excellent work in video editing and mixing and Mr. Waseem Khursheed for powerful background voice which brought this documentary to life.

Together, we continue to inspire excellence in Forensic Science education.

A remarkable seminar titled “Evidence from Crime Scene to Courtroom” was successfully held on 11th September 2025 at the Department of Forensic Science, University of Poonch, Rawalakot.

Honourable Deputy Commissioner Sardar Umer Farook graced the event as Chief Guest. Advocate Najam Farook delivered an impactful talk on the Need of Forensic Science in the Judicial System and Law Enforcement, while Dr. Zubair Ahmad highlighted the Applications of DNA in Forensic Science.

A thrilling and informative documentary, the first of its kind at the University, was presented by our 1st-year students, showcasing crime scene evidence collection, preservation, chain of custody, courtroom trials, and laboratory demonstrations.

The seminar was organized under the dynamic leadership of Professor Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad, Dean Faculty of Agriculture, who delivered the vote of thanks and appreciated the collective efforts of the team. Dr. Shahid Iqbal Awan, Chairman Department of Forensic Science, opened the session with an introduction to the BS Forensic Science program covering key fields such as DNA, Fingerprints, Cybercrime, Artificial Intelligence in Forensics, Digital Forensics, Toxicology and more.

Special appreciation goes to Mr. Shoaib Mumtaz, Professor Dr. Ilias, Dr. Zubair Ahmad, Dr. Shafiqurrehman, Dr. Saima Shafique, Dr. Shazia, Mr. Abdussalam, and Mr. Maqbool Khan for their valuable contributions. We also extend our gratitude to Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zakria and Registrar Professor Dr. Rauf Ahmad for their supervision and support.
Thanks to all our respectable guests from civil society to be a part of this wonderful event .
This seminar marks an important step towards linking academic knowledge with practical needs of law enforcement, judiciary, and the justice system. It strengthens future perspectives for our students and enhances the University’s role in producing skilled forensic professionals.
