-Hi guys! Im Saleha Ali aka DPD
Since I cant write a Humans of RiJMUN for myself because apni tareef kon kerta hai yaar xD
So I'm here to write down my experience and boy was it an amazing one!
Being Head Publications was khwaari let me tell you, I owe it all to my co-heads and team members for making it easy for us.
I remember running around helping Abeera in her errands, oh good times xD doing security at the concert just because I wanted to experience it. Never again I tell you 😂
But I enjoyed every moment of it. Every laugh, every tear (yes there was a lot of crying involved 😂) and every moment spent with this amazing host team is something I will never forget.
Thankyou to all the chairs, the delegates and the host team for making RiJMUN the best event I took part in ❤️

Here's to Wafa Atif, RiJMUN's chief of staff. Always working around and helping everyone. Here's here experience;
'Truly a life changing experience for me as I learnt what an honour it is to host such a big event and the challenges and the hardwork that comes from it. I was basically there from the start, even being in ORA but trying to do all the work, making study guides. Being a debater, having a MUN in which I could be a part of along with such fine people has made it memorable for me.'
Well Wafa, you made it memorable for us too.

Humans of RiJMUN:
Here's very dramatic and heartfelt note from our Director registrations and marketing, Irza Fatima:
'It was hard; very hard. But there's not a single part of it that I don't miss. Rijmun was truly special to not only me but hundreds of other kids. I admit; finding sponsors and getting kids to pay up was a challenge I questioned myself before and after taking quite a few times but a year later it's one I'm willing to accept again just to relive the emotions I felt in those three days.
I remember walking into the interview for the position being so nervous of what was to come. I was sure I wouldn't get it but at the same time I knew I'd regret it if I didn't try. And guess what? I got the "job" which serves as an example for all that if you don't try for something you'll never be able to achieve it. RIJMUN was what it was because of the absolutely amazing host team that spent days making it at par with any other MUN. I'd like to give a special shout-out to my friends who helped me throughout RIJMUN and made it as incrediblr as it was.'
Due credits to Irza for all the registrations she got 💕

Humans of RiJMUN:
Y'all making people dance is hard work and what better person to do it then Hiba Amin, Director Social Events
A fun-loving,upbeat personality that's contagious to everyone who works with her!
This is her story:
'Originally, when I heard of the idea of RIJMUN back in early June 2016 I fell in love with it; however, there was always a part of me that knew it was never going to happen. Summer went on, and the idea of RIJMUN taking place slowly simmered away. Then, one day I was added to the group as the director social events DHA. It was happening; like actually. From that moment onwards stuff got real. I put in hours and hours getting everyone's lazy self to dance (It's a hard task OK please don't bully me) and setting up what was to be "3 unforgettable nights" The friendly competition between the campuses really kept me motivated, but it would be wrong on so many levels if I took all the credit. Having a drama queen secretary-general and being surrounded by such amazing friends (Y'all know who you are) really kept me pushing hard, and for that, I'm beyond grateful. Being a perfectionist makes criticising easy but honestly; Rijmun was beyond perfect'
Thankyou Hiba for not criticising us xD and for all the hard work you did to give us what were indeed 'three unforgettable nights!'

-Humans of RiJMUN:
A special message from our president:
One year ago, a bunch of O3 and O4 kids decided they wanted to host an MUN. Despite being constantly told that they couldn't, they did. And it was amazing.
One year ago, a close friend of mine asked me to take part in this MUN as it's president and initially I didn't want to, but she convinced me and I'm so glad that she did because Rijmun was a once in a lifetime sort of an experience.
It was stressful and frustrating but at the same time so much fun and in the end, seeing the event turn out to be incredible made all of it worth it. I got to meet and interact with so many new people and I got the chance to experience things I never even considered doing before.
So here's to the executive council and the host team and every single person from the administration that made those three days some of the best in my life. Rijmun was glorious.

Humans of RiJMUN:
Director Media Abdullah Mirza misses RiJMUN as much as the rest of us. Here's what he has to say:
'Well its been almost a year.
Iam really overwhelmed that i was part of such a great event, the bond i shared with the team was unaparelled.
Especially, i made some goods friends(especially Saleha & Ahmad)
The sheer amount of hardwork you all put together to make this event a success really inspired me.
Thankyou for making me a part of it.
Rijmun 2.0 just has to happen & we all need a good reunion.'

FTW. Most of you know this as an abbreviation of 'for the win' but for us it stands for 'Fatima Tanveer Wins.'
Trust me, she wins, always. No questions asked. So who is Fatima Tanveer and how is she a part of RiJMUN?
Meet the chair of UNSC, one of the sweetest people you'll ever come across. On this great occasion, I asked her how she felt when chairing at RiJMUN and she told me:
"I owe it to Rijmun for giving me the opportunity to sit on the chair's desk and get sassed by a 12 year old. Remember when they said Big things come in small packages? They weren't kidding."
We're glad you became a part of this memorable event ❤️

Humans of RiJMUN:

'We annoyed maam Khadija till she let it happen'

Basically how Ms.President remembers RiJMUN'16. I'm sure you all remember Haneen Azhar, President DHA & chair UNHRC for this event, but here's how she remembers RiJMUN on its 'one year anniversary.'

'We started working on proposals, host team structures and finally started with a host team of 201 people.'

A huge number to handle, eh? In a big host team there are always countless fights but also countless moments of laughter and happiness.

“I felt the happiest watching 11 year olds discussing complex global issues.' Oh what MUNs can do to people. RiJMUN has taught us all something, but most importantly it taught us to get over our egos and once we did, everything went pretty smoothly. RiJMUN will be missed, its great to see how far we've come in life in just a year.”

It will be missed indeed, Haneen, it will be missed.

-the part where i thought about it. 😂'
Okaaaayyy the SG has some sass going on but its okay we gon' let it slide xD
Having a faulty memory doesnt help when you forget a cool nickname for Shehryar. Still sad but let's take a look on what we achieved and how excited SG sahab was:
'well, we got our 600 delegates, a budget surplus, some of the best chairs in the twin cities & a pretty nice concert alongside the greatest host team ever soooooo - pleeettttyyy excited?'
Yeah, we all have mixed emotions about being excited, we get you SG sahab..
Time for some Shehryar Mohammad 2k17 quotes;
'RiJMUN was important. It was important because it proved that you can do anything you put your mind to. & I know that sounds cliché, but a team of 15 year olds managed to pull of one of the biggest events of 2016 while simultaneously managing not to kill each other! that little joke aside, I'm immensely proud when I look back on RiJMUN - because when everything's said & done, that event transformed a lot of people, & watching those people grow was probably one of the greatest things I've ever seen. I had the unique pleasure of working with the greatest team a man could ask for - a team which personified leadership, strength, & commitment. & while they did occasionally want to kill me, we pulled through in the end, our RiJMUN family pulled through in the end, & that is what RiJMUN means to me. ❤️'
Well, Shehryar, props to you for being a drama queen and in the end being a major part of RiJMUN*
Can we appreciate the hair tho 😂

*this is a sponsored message xD lol no I'm just trynna be funny

- Humans of RiJMUN:
'Enunciating the welcoming words for the first gathering of Roots Junior Model United Nations Conference 2016, as the Under Secretary-General, is an unmatched privilege and honor for me.
My view about an MUN had always been very positive since it constructs platform that compliments both your academic and social assets.
I joined Rijmun because the idea of this 'junior' MUN was very fascinating and Im one of those who wont stay back in events especially when it's of my own school.
It was being told about Rijmun when it just probably had an SG and a President xD So yes I was part of it from the start. Thanks to Wafa Atif actually who mentioned my name & made it happen.'
These were words of undersecretary general Mariam Imran back in 2016. Mariam helped make rijmun a success and we thank her for all her hardwork! She summarised her experience very nicely in the following paragraph,I must say:
'It was amazing! I got to know so many amazing and talented people. Along with that I made so many memories. I want RiJMUN again'
Yes, we all want RiJMUN to happen again *sigh* sad reacts onli. Nah, I'm just kidding love reacts all the way to all the memories RiJMUN gave us.
Hey guys! Since its our first anniversary the next three days will feature experiences of our extremely deserving and amazing team members
