On Thursday, April 16, 2026, the Women Development Center at the University of Sahiwal successfully hosted a Business Exhibition for female entrepreneurs, offering an inspiring platform for female students to present their innovative business ideas and entrepreneurial talents.

The event demonstrated the unwavering dedication of the worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, whose vision persistently advances women’s empowerment, skill-based education, and entrepreneurial development within the University.

The initiative was successfully organized under the steadfast leadership of Ms. Asia Saeed, whose contributions were instrumental in the exhibition's successful ex*****on, along with Zainab Hanif, the Female Ambassador at the University of Sahiwal.

Esteemed faculty members, such as Dr. Waris Ali, Dr. Ammara Saleem, Dr. Abrar Hussain Qureshi, Dr. Shabbir Ahmad, Dr. Amir Aziz, Dr. Saira Irfan, Ms. Maria Safdar and Dr. Wajeha Tahir, visited the stalls and supported and motivated the participants.

The exhibition served as a proof of the University’s forward-thinking atmosphere, encouraging confidence, creativity, and leadership among female students while bolstering the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Sahiwal successfully hosted a large-scale recruitment test for Computer Science-related posts advertised by the Punjab Prisons Department. The test witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 900 candidates from across the Sahiwal Division, including Sahiwal, Okara, and Pakpattan.

The examination process was conducted in a highly organized and transparent manner under the supervision of Mr. Muhammad Khurram Saleem, District IT Officer Sahiwal, Dr. Muhammad Ayyoub, Chairperson Department of Computer Science, and Dr. Abdul Hameed, Building Incharge of Academic Block-II.

Officials from the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Office Sahiwal and the Punjab Prisons Department, along with the participating candidates, expressed great satisfaction over the smooth and well-managed conduct of the test. They appreciated the conducive environment and professional arrangements ensured by the University.

Special gratitude was extended to the worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, and the Registrar, Syed Ghulam Ali Asghar, for their leadership and facilitation in hosting this significant event. Given the large number of candidates, the successful ex*****on of the test stands as a testament to the University’s strong administrative capacity.

The Directorate of IT, led by Dr. Muhammad Ayyoub, along with the team of Academic Block-II, deserves special commendation for their exceptional coordination, technical support, and efficient management of the entire process.

This collaborative effort highlights the strong coordination and institutional synergy between the University of Sahiwal and the divisional and district administration, setting a benchmark for future large-scale testing initiatives.

🔹 Students arriving by bus must get off near the designated passage and ensure their biometric verification before entering.

In an important development aimed at strengthening academic discipline and ensuring quality education, a high-level meeting was convened today by the Worthy Vice Chancellor with all Academic and Administrative Heads of Departments.

During the meeting, the worthy Vice Chancellor emphasized the need for strict adherence to institutional policies, improved classroom engagement, and enhanced monitoring mechanisms to ensure effective teaching and learning across the university. All HoDs were directed to implement these guidelines in their respective departments with immediate effect.

Following the directions of the Vice Chancellor, all regular and visiting faculty members are required to observe the following guidelines in letter and spirit:

🔹 Strict Adherence to Timetable:
All classes must be conducted as per the officially approved timetable. Faculty are required to utilize the complete duration of each class to ensure proper content delivery.

🔹 Use of Official Platforms Only:
Teaching activities must be carried out through the officially designated platforms (such as Google Classroom). No alternative arrangements will be permitted under any circumstances.

🔹 Ensuring Punctuality & Regularity:
Faculty members are expected to start and conclude their classes on time and maintain consistency in their teaching schedules.

🔹 Active Teaching & Student Engagement:
Teachers are encouraged to adopt interactive teaching methods. In online classes, the use of microphone and video is strongly recommended to ensure better communication and engagement.

🔹 Effective Monitoring Mechanism:
All classes will be regularly monitored by HoDs, Director Academics, and other relevant authorities to ensure compliance and maintain academic standards.

🔹 Attendance & Discipline:
Faculty must ensure proper attendance recording and maintain discipline and decorum in classrooms, guiding students towards a professional learning environment.

🔹 Course Coverage & Academic Planning:
Teachers should strictly follow the approved course outlines and ensure timely completion of syllabi with proper planning and preparation.

🔹 Timely Communication & Issue Resolution:
In case of any academic or technical issues, faculty members must coordinate with their HoDs or Program Coordinators well in advance.

🔹 Continuous Assessment & Feedback:
Regular assignments, quizzes, and feedback should be ensured to support student learning and academic progress.

The Vice Chancellor reiterated that maintaining high academic standards and discipline is a collective responsibility. All faculty members are expected to demonstrate professionalism, commitment, and accountability in fulfilling their duties.

The Department of Law organized interviews for the award of need-based scholarships for its undergraduate programs, reaffirming its commitment to supporting deserving students and ensuring equal opportunities for academic advancement.

The session was led by Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad Khan, Chairperson of the Department of Law, and was attended by program coordinators along with regular faculty members. The committee conducted the proceedings in a well-structured and transparent manner, ensuring fairness at every stage.

A large number of students appeared for the interviews, where their financial needs and academic performance were carefully evaluated. The process was designed to maintain a balance between merit and genuine need, ensuring that assistance reaches the most deserving candidates.

The selected students will be awarded scholarships in the form of fee concessions for the upcoming semester. This initiative highlights the department’s dedication to academic inclusivity and student welfare.

𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

A high-level preparatory meeting was held today to review and finalize the arrangements for the upcoming 3rd Convocation. The meeting was chaired by the Controller of Examinations, Mr. Mubashir Saeed, and was attended by all heads of the respective sub-committees.

During the session, a comprehensive review of arrangements was undertaken, including venue management, stage setup, guest reception, security, academic processions, and overall event coordination. Each sub-committee presented progress updates and highlighted any pending tasks to ensure smooth ex*****on of the event.

The Chair emphasized the importance of meticulous planning, timely completion of responsibilities, and effective coordination among all teams to make the convocation a dignified and memorable occasion.

It was reiterated that the 3rd Convocation is scheduled to be held on 30th April 2026. In preparation, a full dress rehearsal will take place on 29th April 2026 at Jinnah Hall, Sahiwal Arts Council, to ensure that all arrangements are in place and the ceremony proceeds flawlessly.
