The University of Sahiwal has taken a significant step toward financial digitization by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Habib Bank Limited (HBL) for the implementation of an online fee collection system.
In a brief but impressive ceremony held at the university, the worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, Mr. Muhammad Awais Javaid (Regional Business Head HBL from Lahore), and Mr. Kashif Hussain (Head Transaction Services SME) formally signed the MoU.
This collaboration aims to facilitate students through a seamless and hassle-free digital payment mechanism, enabling them to deposit their university dues conveniently via the HBL Mobile Application without any additional service charges.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, appreciated the joint efforts of the Treasurerโs Office and the Directorate of Information Technology for introducing modern digital solutions to enhance student convenience and institutional efficiency. He emphasized that this initiative aligns with the universityโs vision of adopting smart and paperless systems in administrative and financial operations.
The ceremony was attended by Syed Ghulam Ali Asghar, Additional Treasurer; Mr. Saif Ullah Khalid, Regional Chief HBL Sahiwal; Mr. Amir Shahzad, Deputy Treasurer; and Dr. Muhammad Ayyoub, Director Information Technology, along with representatives from HBL.
This collaboration marks a major milestone in the universityโs journey toward digital transformation, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in financial transactions for students and stakeholders alike.
